When it comes to the best shows of the NCIS franchise, viewers would be happy to remember NCIS: Los Angeles. Over the years, a strong ensemble of cast helped the TV show build a strong fanbase.

Among the most adored characters are LL Cool J as Sam Hanna, Chris O'Donnell as Callen, and how can we not mention Kensi and Marty, played by Daniela Ruah and Eric Christian Olsen.

Interestingly, Christian Olsen is Ruah's brother-in-law in real life, but the two portray a couple in the crime drama. During their appearance on Queen Latifah's show, Olsen opened up about scenes where he used to literally steal Ruah's spotlight, saying:

"We have this thing on the show... a lot of times they'll write a last line in a scene in NCIS and it ends with like [mimicking a camera shutter with his hands] and that's the end of the scene... They wrote one for her, like she'll have the last line and then I'll always improv something."

Listening to Olsen, the host finds it hard to hold on to her laugh while his co-star and sister-in-law says:

"And it drives me nuts because... I'm vain, I'd like to have that last moment on camera. You know the last thing people see before you go... It's always a positive thing..."

Daniela Ruah also explained how she reacted off-screen as the spotlight would eventually be shifted to Eric Christian Olsen, thanks to his improvisation skills. The NCIS: Los Angeles star then mentioned that he kept doing that because of the hilarious reactions his sister-in-law used to give.

NCIS: Los Angeles premiered on CBS in 2009 and concluded after fourteen successful seasons in 2023. It revolves around a team of undercover agents who work at the NCIS branch in the city, where they're responsible for dealing with perilous tasks such as security threats and more.

Each episode of the CBS drama featured intense scenes and was packed with action. However, the vibe was completely different off-screen. Especially when it came to Eric Christian Olsen and his co-star Daniela Ruah.

As mentioned before, Olsen used to make improvisations in scenes where his sister-in-law had the last line. Daniela Ruah remembered one such moment on the sets of NCIS: Los Angeles and said:

"Today there was another one, so there was one line in the scene we stop the bad guy, we have our guns trained on him and I say 'Federal agents hands where we can see him', he [Olsen] takes a beat and goes 'You heard the lady'... and I was like I give up."

This way, Eric Christian Olsen stole Daniela Ruah's lines in the funniest way possible. The co-stars highlighted their playful bond and how such moments became even more iconic during the run of NCIS: Los Angeles on CBS.

It has been two years since NCIS: Los Angeles concluded, but loyal fans would always want to recall great stories and characters from the show. Similarly, Daniela Ruah loved her character and mentioned what she learned from her.

During an interview with TV Insider, the actress said:

"Kensi is a woman of much inner strength and integrity. She will fight for good until the end, and I will continue to live my life that way too."

When asked to shed light on her journey, Ruah explained:

"I’m extremely happy. Kensi started her journey as a woman who would only count on herself emotionally and fiercely living for the job. She grew up and matured into wanting a life with Deeks [Eric Christian Olsen] and a family of her own while still excelling at the job."

In the end, Kensi and her husband Marty had a satisfying conclusion as they learn about their pregnancy. The moment becomes special as they also share it with their adopted daughter, Rosa, as she's going to become an elder sister.
