Shark Tank investor Robert Herjavec attended a business discussion with Grant Cardone, which premiered on October 4, 2022, via his YouTube. Fans who follow Robert must know how he often shares business tips, knowledge about various mindsets, and more.
One of the segments featured in the business discussion was about the "immigrant mindset" and how people have a "limiting" factor. Sharing his views on that, Shark Tank mentor revealed:
"So here's another limiting factor you asked really about the immigrant mindset. So as immigrants, you know what you're taught, don't tell the world about yourself. My parents were always like, you know, if you're good at what you do, the world will beat a path to your door."
Shark Tank investor Robert Herjavec, in a discussion with Grant Cardone - Talked about immigrant mindset, limiting factors, and marketing
Host Grant Cardone asked Robert how important it was for anyone to get "known" to "become known" to have attention. Shark Tank's mentor responded that it was a "limiting factor." Being an immigrant, he was always "taught" to not tell "the world" about one's self.
As he grew up with such a mindset, Robert recalled being "the shyest, humblest" individual who couldn't talk in front of people.
"And what I realized is there is no genius in the darkness of a basement. World is not going to be the path to your doorcrack. You got to tell the world who you are, man. Like, if you don't have enough confidence to tell other people why they should invest in you, then you're not going to get anywhere."
However, Shark Tank's mentor clarified that he was not talking about "arrogance." He also mentioned "not standing on rooftops" to tell people about one's greatness. Robert noted that it was about "value" that one can add. Along with that, being "communicative" is also of the essence.
Further in the discussion, the host talked about marketing. He asked Robert about the importance of marketing in growing a business/brand.
Robert mentioned that people don't understand the concept of "how to leverage." Shark Tank's investor also commented on how it was all about leverage and people misunderstanding the "scale."
"People don't understand how to leverage a small amount of money to make a lot of money in real estate. It's all about leverage. You know, scale, people misunderstand scale. They think scale is about hiring more people using more cash. Scale is about leveraging limited resources."
Robert confessed that "marketing" was "leveraging" on a larger scale. He revealed that having a "brand" would amplify the business. In the latter part of the segment, they talked about recurring revenue and recurring incoming leads.
