Shark Tank judge Daymond John shares a list of "common social media mistakes" while telling business owners to "clean up" their digital presence

Shark Tank's Daymond John recently shared a list of mistakes that most businesses make while making their online presence known to their customers. Referring to these mistakes, he advised the business owners to clean up those mistakes for better brand visibility.

1. Inconsistent Posting: Reduces visibility and engagement

The first mistake was posting on social media without any proper planning. Doing such results in reduced visibility and lesser engagement with followers.

2. Ignoring Engagement: Failing to interact with followers

One of the vital things to do while making your business's online presence known is that engagement with users is a must. Failing to interact with followers can negatively impact your online brand presence.

3. Overly Salesy Content: Prioritizing sales over value

Sales done in a good way can be game-changing and can impact your online business presence. However, prioritizing sales over value won't leave similar positive impacts because of "overly" sales content shared via your social media.

4. Lack of Strategy: Posting without clear goals or direction

Posting various things, including promotional posts, product/ service reels, and more, without any particular strategy won't be as effective as posting with clear goals.

5. Ignoring Analytics: Missing insights to improve performance

While posting online, considering the analytics is a vital step. In case of missing insights that can help you improve your performance can negatively affect your business's online presence.

6. Low-Quality Visuals: Using unprofessional images or videos

Posting random, unprofessional images and videos greatly affects your online visibility. As the Shark Tank mentor stated, it would be considered as ignoring analytics for your brand's online presence.

7. Jumping on Every Trend: Sacrificing authenticity for relevance

As we all know, there are various trends on social media each morning. However, going with each of those trends might not be such a good idea. Because sacrificing authenticity for the sake of relevance is not something to consider if you want to improve your brand visibility.

8. Neglecting Platform Differences: Failing to tailor content per platform

Users need to post relevant content for different platforms depending on their particular requirements. Various social media platforms, including Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), FaceBook, and more, require specific content tailored for that platform.
