In Shark Tank Season 6, investor Robert Herjavec couldn't just let Kevin O'Leary get away with a steep term for a particular investment, so he "drained his chances" of landing a successful deal. The deal in question came from Drain Strain founder Naushad Ali, who came up with a perfect product for those who were tired of unclogging their drains with bare hands. He presented an Anti-clog drain strainer attachment and sought $110,000 for a 15% stake.

Mark Cuban and Lori Greiner opted out because they did not see market growth for the product and were wary of Naushad's other work commitment. However, Kevin O'Leary was ready to offer Naushad a deal.

Kevin incorporated a licensing contingency and $110,000 for 20% of the stake in counter to the 15% asked by the Drain Strain founder. Barbara Corcoran rallied behind Kevin's offer, calling it Naushad's best chance.

However, Robert Herjavec saw potential in the product and took his chances by counter-offering a better deal than Kevin O'Leary. Herjavec intervened even as Kevin was negotiating with Naushad, and offered a deal amounting to the same price but for 10% stake with a licensing contingency. Robert Herjavec said, while extending his deal to Naushad:

"To take 20% from you for really making a phone call just doesn't seem fair to me. Alright. So, here's my offer. I'll give you the 110,000. I think your ask for 15% was too high. I'm willing to take 10%. So I'll give you the 110,000, the same contingency as Kevin, but I want 10%."

Shark Tank Season 6: Drain Strain founder cracks deal with investor Robert Herjavec

In Season 6 of Shark Tank US, Naushad Ali, the founder of Drain Strain (now known as Drain Buddy), secured a deal with investor Robert Herjavec despite receiving no offer from the other three judges: Mark Cuban, Barbara Corcoran, and Lori Greiner.

While the other judges didn't recognize the potential of Naushad's anti-clog drain device, Kevin O'Leary and Robert Herjavec saw its value and extended an offer each to the founder.

Naushad Ali accepted Robert's deal, considering he asked for a lower percentage of stake than Kevin. Recently, Herjavec posted a video of Naushad's pitch from Season 6 on his Instagram, hinting at the success of the company, which Kevin could not foresee at that time. The caption of the post reads:

"Kevin didn’t see it coming — drained his chances!"

After Shark Tank investor Herjavec's investment, Drain Strain was able to penetrate major retailers like Ace Hardware and Amazon, and partner with hotel chains like Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inn, and La Quinta. As of October 2023, Drain Strain's net worth was $5 million in lifetime sales.

Drain Strain was featured in Season 6 of Shark Tank on ABC.
