While being in a dangerous line of work and working as a firefighter with his team to stop fires daily, he also faced problems in his marriage with his wife, Sharon. He was a pillar of strength to his wife when she was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease.
He even survived his son's arrest, his subsequent sentence in prison, and his teenage daughter Riley's death.
Vince continues to be a born leader and an integral part of Fire Country. And, no matter how much strength his character possesses, he is not immortal, which was foreshadowed in Season 2 after he was electrocuted while rescuing.

While his fans would like to believe that Vince is invincible (pun intended), Season 2 Episode 7 was a grave reminder that he is not. Ever since that incident, his fans were speculating whether Vince dies in Fire Country.
Vince was electrocuted in Season 2 of the show after power surged through his body. While retrieving an axe from the back of his truck, the power surge was accidentally turned on and passed from the metal in his hands through his entire body.
The current was powerful and blew him backward through several yards in the air while sparks flew around him.
New Paramedic Gabriela didn't get a heartbeat on him and could not bring him back. However, he was brought back and rushed to the hospital after an expert team of paramedics worked on him.
While everything looked good for him, the episode's final moments threatened Vince's life. When Gabriela visited him at the hospital, he was staring at his bandaged hand, which was having tremors. She asks him how long this has been going on, and Vince asks her not to tell anyone about it.
