Missy Cooper became quite the rage after Young Sheldon gave her an in-depth character arc. Sheldon’s twin sister, Missy, also appeared in The Big Bang Theory. However, Young Sheldon handled her character with much more depth than The Big Bang Theory.

Missy Cooper is played by Courtney Henggeler. She made her first appearance in season 1, episode 15, The Pork Chop Indeterminacy.

In the aforementioned episode, Leonard, Howard, and Raj are instantly smitten with Missy and try their best to win her affection.

Leonard devises a strategy to keep the other guys away from her by persuading Sheldon to feel overprotective of her. While Sheldon decides to pick who will date his sister, his plan fails miserably.

Sheldon’s twin sister, Missy, is shown to be the complete opposite of Sheldon in terms of demeanor as well as IQ. While Sheldon is less socially inclined and struggles to fit in, Missy is portrayed as having exceptional social skills.

Missy appears again after a long wait in season 11, episode 24, The Bow Tie Asymmetry. This was her final appearance during Sheldon and Amy's wedding. In the episode, she is revealed to be in a troubled marriage and facing the challenges of an unplanned pregnancy.

Despite these memorable appearances, Missy Cooper's character is relatively sparse throughout the series. Her mentions are mainly limited to early seasons, leaving fans to speculate about her life beyond occasional visits.

This limited portrayal made fans crave more about her struggles involving personal issues and a complex family dynamic. If The Big Bang Theory ever has a reboot, Missy would be on the list of characters who deserve more exploration.

Especially because Missy Cooper was very well depicted in the prequel series Young Sheldon, it makes the call for a BBT reboot even louder.

Young Sheldon, the prequel to The Big Bang Theory, also features Missy Cooper. The series delves deeper into Sheldon's early life and provides more information about his family, including his sister, Missy, who is played by Raegan Revord.

In Young Sheldon, we see how she grew up and interacted with Sheldon, giving us a better understanding of her as a sibling. However, BBT gave us very few moments to explore the relationship between Sheldon and Missy.

The prequel series offers a different interpretation of Missy compared to The Big Bang Theory. Although she seems to be a loving and emotionally mature sibling in the initial seasons of Young Sheldon, the subsequent seasons expose her conflicts and rebellious nature. This representation contrasts with her quieter and less developed role in BBT.
