How did Virgin River Season 5 end for Mel and Jack?
Much of Virgin River is about Jack and Mel, a strong, honest, attractive couple with whom the audience connected. When Mel entered the town, she had just lost her husband and baby. Over time, the romance between Jack and Mel has grown, and they have both survived and thrived through numerous conflicts over the past five seasons.
The final episode of season 5 put viewers on edge. Mel and Jack were looking forward to parenthood. The loss of Mel's baby in a fierce wildfire devastated her, having previously lost her child to stillbirth. The ordeal also showed her strength, as she hoped to find other ways to start a family.
Meanwhile, Mel Monroe makes a shocking discovery: she discovers that Everett Reid is her father. When she first finds him, he denies knowing her; later, he goes to her house, admits he is her father, and says he has an important matter to discuss. This opens up a new chapter in Mel's life, as she now has to juggle being with Everett and planning her wedding to Jack.
