The White Lotus Season 3 finale was filled with jaw-dropping and nail-biting moments. This special 90-minute episode titled Amor Fati dropped on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at 9 PM ET on HBO. With some pivotal characters dying, the season finale provides a conclusion to some mysteries and secrets of the privileged guests and staff of the exotic resort in Thailand.
Lochlan Ratliff, the youngest and pampered member of the Ratliff family, escaped a near-death situation in The White Lotus Season 3 finale. Even after having the poison seeds-filled protein shake, Lochlan Ratliff did not die in The White Lotus Season 3 finale.

What happened to Lochlan Ratliff in The White Lotus Season 3 finale?
Previously, Timothy Ratliff planned to poison his entire family with a poison derived from the toxic seeds of a local fruit. Timothy planned the entire suicide looking murder to save his family from the disgrace due to his failing financial status. Interestingly, it was Lochlan who stated that he could live without his family's money and comfort, and hence, Timothy decided to spare Lochlan from his evil plan.
However, Timothy had a last moment change of heart, and he stopped the Ratcliffs from having the poisonous pina colada. However, the next morning, Lochlan used the same pina colada mixer grinder to make a protein shake for himself. Thus, his protein shake was spiked with the toxic seeds unknowingly, pushing him towards a tragic death. He threw up near the pool and began to hallucinate about drowning in the sea with what looked like a sort of enlightenment with four bald men. At this point, the viewers and even Lochlan thought he might have died due to the toxic seeds. However, Timothy saved his son, and Lochlan regained consciousness. Thus, Lochlan Ratliff, along with his family, Timothy, Victoria, Saxon, and Piper, were all alive by the end of the Season finale.
The finale also saw the three friends, Laurie, Jaclyn, and Kate, sort out their differences and reconcile. However, the couple, Chelsea and Rick, did not survive the finale. After Rick killed Jim Hollinger, the person he believed killed his father. Sritala revealed that Jim was Rick's father. On the other hand, Chelsea was killed by Jim's bodyguards, even though Rick fought bravely. When Rick was carrying Chelsea to ask for help, he was shot by Gaitok, and both fell in a lily pond. Belinda, Zion, Greg, Cole, and the staff of the White Lotus make it alive through the finale.
Sam Nivola expresses his views on The White Lotus' Season 3 finale and Lochlan's fate
Sam Nivola, who plays Lochlan Ratliff in The White Lotus Season 3, opened up about his experience in the finale and how his character faced a near-death experience. In an interview with Variety, he expressed his happiness that his character Lochlan was able to survive The White Lotus Season 3 finale. He told,
"It was a 12-hour time difference to New York. The only people you see are the people that are playing your family members. And we got so, so close. We still are. It's also surreal and weird."
When asked about whether his character will return for the next season or not, he said,
"I'll go anywhere Mike asks me to. I think that he wants to keep the common thread extending from Tanya. The whole thing is her story as it relates to her money. If I had to guess, I'd say Nick Duvernay is gonna be the next one to come back, because Belinda made off with all the money."
However, when Sam was asked about whether Lochlan was able to figure out his own identity rather than being a people pleaser. Sam told Variety,
"I don't think he's made any. There's a moment when he comes back to life and he say's I think I just saw God. He's going through phases of trying to figure out what his thing is and he still doesn't know. That's the realism of the show."
