In Season 2 of The Recruit, Noah Centineo’s Owen Hendricks barely makes it alive after his rescue mission in Russia.

During his mission of rescuing Jang Kyu’s wife from the Yakuzas, he gets embroiled in dangerous and life-threatening circumstances. Not only him, but his co-worker, Lester Kitchens, played by Colton Dunn, was also almost killed in Season 2 of The Recruit.

In Season 2, Dawn Gilbane ( Angel Parker) hires a South Korean assassin to kill Owen and Lester as she assumes both of them know about her stealing money from the CIA.

More on this in our story.

Since Laura Haddock’s Max Meladze had told Owen about Dawn’s fraudulent activities — that she was fooling the CIA and taking money from them — Dawn tries to get him killed.

Owen tries to strike a deal with her. He agrees not to expose her if she doesn't have him killed. However, Parker’s Dawn doesn’t trust him and sends an assassin after him.

Although Colton Dunn’s Lester has no idea about Dawn's dubious activities, she still sends the same South Korean assassin to kill him, assuming he might know about her secret, too. Owen recognizes the assassin who tried to kill Lester, as the assassin had also attacked him. This makes him realize that Dawn is behind all of this. Both of them decide against taking revenge as they still need Dawn to complete their mission.

However, Dawn dies at the end of Season 2 after Nichka (Maddie Hasson) attacks her in a ruthless knife fight.

In the Season 2 ending, Jesse Collin’s Dodge, a CIA operative and Dawn’s sidekick, makes a final attempt to kill Lester but Yoo Jin Lee ( Shin Do-hyun) strikes him with a fire extinguisher, which knocks him unconscious.

With Dawn gone, Owen with his team and Jang Kyu, successfully save Jang Kyu’s wife, Nan Hee ( Sanghee Lee) from the operatives called Yakuzas. Owen then suggests Teo Yoo's Jang Kyu become an American asset and live in America with his wife.

Teo Yoo talks about the development in a Netflix interview saying:

"It’s a hint from Owen that there’s a fresh start in the cards for Jang Kyun, which is exciting to see."

While agreeing with Teo Yoo, Noah Centineo explains:

"Owen is more so giving someone safe harbor in return for secrets. So, it’s slightly less of a conflicting force. In a weird way, it’s a lovely little ending. They’re speaking in a language that they both understand."

Other than Noah Centineo, The Recruit also stars Aarti Mann, Kristian Bruun, Daniel Quincy Annoh, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Kaylah Zandar, and James Purefoy.

Season 2 also includes Brooke Smith, Devika Bhise, Felix Solis, and Alana Hawley Purvis.
