Why is it unlikely that Yellowstone will kill off Jimmy in the remaining episodes?
Jimmy's journey on the show has been amazing, and fans have loved his underdog story since Season 1. After Jimmy's grandfather requests John to take Jimmy with him to save him from the world of drugs, he becomes a ranch hand on the Dutton ranch.
Rip helps him understand ranch life, become a good cowboy, and care for the cattle. While Jimmy tries his best to fit into his new role, his old drug-dealing friends track him down and demand money from him. His grandfather is even beaten and killed.
However, he recovers from this incident and finds his footing in doing rodeo shows as he discovers his natural talent in riding bucking horses. But this, too, ends badly for him as he sustains multiple injuries while doing a rodeo in Season 3.
Jimmy is sent to the 6666 ranch to live a separate life after he betrays his vow to John that he will never again participate in the rodeo and is attacked by assassins on the Dutton ranch.
While Jimmy returned for the Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2 premiere, it is unlikely that he will die in the show because he is detached from the events. In addition, his life on the 6666 ranch could hint that he might be one of the main characters for Sheridan's upcoming spin-off.
Will Jimmy be a character in Yellowstone's spin-off 6666?
While the details about this spin-off are sparse, it was reported that Jefferson White will reprise his role as Jimmy in the spin-off series. Since he is one of the first characters John sent away to the 6666 ranch, he might be one of the main characters on the show.
Since he also found a life with his fiancée, Emily, it makes sense to include Jimmy in 6666, which would require the makers not to kill him in the Yellowstone series.
