In The Agency Season 2, the relationship between CIA agent Martian, played by Michael Fassbender, and MI6 operative Henry Ogletree, played by Jeffrey Wright, will continue to develop both personally and professionally, as Fassbender told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview.

The new season 2, which is expected to drop sometime in 2026, showcases Martian and Henry "starting to become enemies, and it’s an interesting dynamic that’s going to develop," hinted Fassbender.

They faced some hints of mistrust and doubt, as one serves the MI6 and one serves the CIA. But in season 2, their bond is meant to deepen. Even in season 1, when they are chasing the case of a missing agent, a hint of camaraderie kind of emerges between the two.

Read on to know more about the evolving relationship between Martian and Henry in The Agency, as the actor teased.

Fassbender suggested that "the Veil" that is restraining Henry from seeing reality will fall in the new season.

“Ultimately the veil at the end of the first season drops from Henry’s face, and all of this disloyalty and all of the conflicted things that blind him to what’s actually going on begin to fall away.”

Till now, in The Agency, Martian gets occupied with his covert operations and burdened with his dual role as an MI6 informant and CIA agent. Henry, on the other hand, is aware of Martian's secret dealings. Martian operates in some of the crucial and difficult areas of global intelligence. In Season 1, it’s revealed that he’s not just working for the CIA — he’s also covertly tied to MI6, the British intelligence service. Henry acts as Martian’s handler from the British side, but he’s more than just a boss— he's a powerful figure with his own agenda.

Wright, revealing more about his character in season 2, says that Henry is like a Mentor to Martian, and season 1 perfectly established their characters.

"Over the course of the first season, there’s this relationship, this bond between the two of them that’s been established. There’s a mutual respect and there’s this reciprocal need and trust, but you begin to see a bit of doubt creep in from Henry’s perspective. As we go on, we’ll begin to explore whether that crack widens and what is revealed inside should be fun."

Fassbender further teased that his character, Martian, might betray Henry in season 2.

"You have trained me in a way; you’ve taken me under your wing back in the day, so there is that deep betrayal then that’s going to be experienced."

In most cases, they always seem to be on the same side, but as mentioned, serving two different kinds of departments always drew a line between the two. Martian has been questioned many times about whether Henry is using him or protecting him. His internal conflict intensifies as he balances his duties to both agencies while grappling with personal relationships.
