Shawn Ryan created The Night Agent, an action thriller series based on Matthew Quirk's novel. The first installment was released on Netflix on March 23, 2023, and stars Gabriel Basso. Season 2 is set to premiere on January 23, 2025.

Cisco Jenkins, Peter Sutherland's loyal friend from the FBI Academy, was one of the most prominent characters on the show. However, he was killed in The Night Agent.

Although there are a number of deaths in The Night Agent, Cisco Jenkins' terrible passing is among the most significant in the series. Curtis Lum portrays Cisco, Peter Sutherland's close buddy from their FBI Academy days. Cisco remained a faithful and trustworthy ally of Peter despite not finishing the Academy and going on to become a Maryland State Trooper.

Cisco is introduced when Peter seeks his assistance while on the run with Rose Larkin. Despite the danger, Cisco takes immediate action, using his resources to identify a suspect's vehicle and offers Rose a safe refuge at his home.

During this period, Cisco tells heartfelt memories about his friendship with Peter, highlighting Peter's honorable and altruistic character. Their friendship is underlined by events such as Peter teaching Cisco to swim during their Academy days.

Unfortunately, Cisco falls prey to the lethal plot. Assassins Ellen and Dale locate Cisco's home while Peter is abroad. Cisco and Rose are warned to flee by Peter, who discovers their peril too late. Cisco is shot and murdered when the assassins smash their car as they are running away. Rose barely makes it out alive, but Peter is devastated by Cisco's passing and feels guilty for putting his friend in such danger.

Cisco is a minor character, but his death is particularly poignant due to his loyalty, heroism, and close relationship with Peter. In addition to Cisco, many other important characters die in The Night Agent.

FBI Director Hawkins, who was first suspected of being the mole, is murdered because he was getting too near to discovering the truth about the metro explosion.

Ultimately, the true mastermind, Vice President Redfield, faces defeat after his assassination attempt is foiled. Redfield and his co-conspirators are apprehended, giving justice to those killed in the murderous plot.
