Who was Billy in Stranger Things?

Billy Hargrove, portrayed by Dacre Montgomery, was introduced in the second season as one of the recurring characters and the antagonist of the series. Billy is shown to be the controlling stepbrother of Max Mayfield and a student at Hawkins High School. Billy is highly aggressive with a volatile temper and a troubled background. Throughout the series, we have seen Billy being highly overprotective and controlling towards Max which is mostly due to his father’s rough upbringing.

Having a charming and dominant personality, Billy is shown to be highly popular with girls and is always seen running solo without a gang. While Billy’s character showed a high temper and possessiveness towards Max, deep down the character had a real soft spot for his sister which is highlighted by the end of the series during their fight with the Mind Flayer in the Battle of Starcourt.
