Yellowstone's prequel spin-off series 1923 Season 2 is setting a hard journey home for Spencer and Alexandra.

While Spencer got involved with the Italian mafia in the previous episode and narrowly escaped, his wife, Alexandra, docked a ship bound for America after her friend helped her flee Boston.

1923 Season 2 Episode 3 finally ended Alexandra's perilous sea voyage, and she docked in America. Finally, making it to the country also seems like an impossible feat, as she is alone and pregnant.

While she has made it to America safely, the journey to her home in Montana is still very far. The episode's ending also suggests that she still has many hurdles before reaching Montana.

More on Alexandra's journey to Montana in 1923 Season 2.

What happened to Alexandra's journey in 1923 Season 2 Episode 3?

She does not have her father's money or her American husband's connection, and she learns she must go through immigration at Ellis Island. Not having the required documents, she persuades an employment agent and learns that she can gain access in the country.

But before that, she had to go through a rigorous, personal, and humiliating interrogation and medical assessment. The whole segment where she is repeatedly asked questions about her last name reveals the harsh conditions of the time.

Next, she has to face a medical test, which uncovers her secret that she is pregnant and, therefore, not fit to work in the country. When she was about to fail at the last interview, she delivered this powerful dialog:

“You regard me with no decency or compassion, all in the name of preserving a freedom I’ve seen no example exists. In fact, I would say this is the least free I have ever felt in my life. If you wish to deny me entry, deny it, but deny it with some courtesy.”

Season 2 Episode 3 cliffhanger hints at danger for Alexandra

She finally gains the approval stamp and gets a ticket to Montana at the Grand Central Station. Everyone warns her about pickpockets, and at the end of Season 2, when she is in a women's washroom, a strange-looking man eyes her.

Considering that she was alone at an American train station in 1923, chances of her getting mugged by this man are high, and Episode 3's ending suggests that. While Alex has proved that she is a woman of strength during the immigration process, things might get ugly for her.

Assuming the man eyeing her in Episode 3 is a pick-pocket, the chances of her losing her money are very high, and she might have to look for another alternative to make it to Montana.

While she wants nothing more than to be reunited with her husband, the next episode will finally reveal whether she will make it to Montana or face another danger in her long and dangerous journey.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, actress Julia Schlaepfer discussed her character's determination to make it through her home:

“No one should have to go through what she goes through, but she gets through it and I think the shift in her is truly her child that she’s carrying. She’s got to get that baby to Montana.”

1923 Season 2 Episode 4 arrives on March 16, 2025.
