Ever since its premiere, Ransom Canyon has been getting rave reviews for its perfect blend of Western and romantic genres. The Netflix series is set in the eponymous town, where a tussle goes on for the ownership of the land.

Amid the struggle, a romance brews between rancher Staten Kirkland and local dance hall owner Quinn O’Grady. The two have been friends since childhood, and after various ups and downs, they finally give their relationship a chance in episode 7.

Considering their will-they-won’t-they storyline, fans are left wondering: Do Quinn and Staten get together in Ransom Canyon at the end? Shippers of the couple would be disappointed to learn that the two do not end up together in the first season’s finale.

Do Quinn and Staten get together in Ransom Canyon?

Quinn and Staten do not get together by the end of Ransom Canyon, at least in the first season. Their relationship dynamics are a major highlight of the show. They have known each other since childhood but have remained only friends ever since.

At the beginning of the series, Staten struggles with the heartbreaking loss of his wife, Amala, and their teenage son, Randall. While he shuts himself off from the world, Quinn is there for him. She supports him by bringing groceries and trying to help him emotionally.

However, Staten does not really notice how much she is doing for him, and this hurts Quinn. As Quinn realizes that Staten is not reciprocating her feelings, she finally decides to move on and date Davis, Staten’s brother-in-law. Davis seems to be a nice guy at first.

He is kind and successful and does not have any baggage from the past like Staten. However, as time goes on, Davis begins to show his true colors. It is revealed that one of the reasons he is dating Quinn is that he wants to build a pipeline on Staten’s land and is working with a company that could put Quinn’s dance hall in danger.

On the other hand, Quinn’s feelings for Staten do not go away even when she is with Davis. Meanwhile, Staten also falls for her. During a tornado in Ransom Canyon episode 7, the two are forced to spend some time alone, during which they talk about their past and end up kissing and sleeping together.

Davis finds out about the affair when he notices the matching bracelets that Quinn and Staten are wearing. He feels angry and hurt and starts trying to ruin Staten’s business. This adds more stress to Quinn and Staten’s already complicated relationship.

Though they finally make their romance official, things do not go well for long. During a fight at the dance hall, Davis and Staten hurl insults at each other, and the latter ends up saying he knows about Davis being deep in debt — a fact that Quinn had told him in secret.

This breaks her trust, and around the same time, she gets a job offer from New York. She has the opportunity to move to the city and play piano for six months. While she initially thinks of turning down the offer, she eventually accepts it, thinking the money would help her save her dance hall.

While Quinn plans to return to Ransom Canyon ultimately, Staten feels left behind and accuses her of not taking their relationship seriously. He leaves behind the bracelet she had given him and walks away.

At the end of Ransom Canyon, Quinn and Staten do not get together, even though they love each other.

All episodes of Ransom Canyon are available to stream on Netflix.
