"Do I believe her?" - Love Is Blind's Dave on Lauren’s past relationship and his family’s doubts

Love is Blind Season 8 Episode 8 premiered on Netflix on February 21, 2025. The episode featured the couples moving back to Minneapolis after spending their blissful honeymoon period in Honduras. This shift will test their compatibility in the real world and whether or not the couples fit into each other's lives.

One of the couples that have been facing issues related to physical intimacy since their time in Honduras, is Dave and Lauren. In the newest episode, when he had access to his phone, his family and friends informed him about Lauren's past relationship. Dave is now skeptical if he is doing the right thing.

Lauren had a casual partner for 2 months before she came into the pods. She claims that she broke things off with him however, Dave is dicey about it. He thinks that they are still together because the man is reaching out to her friends trying to connect once again.

Dave thinks the guy might just be trying to get on TV but he is unsure. Another coincidence that was pointed out was how this mystery guy is living in the same building that Love is Blind couples have moved into.

All of this information, along with what his family and friends are saying, is making Dave doubtful. In a confessional on the episode, he said,

"It's one of those things. Do I believe her? Do I believe this guy slash my friends? The sh*tty and like tricky thing for me has been my sister knows now. She heard that, like, Lauren has had a boyfriend going into this. My sister, again, she already had her doubts about this and concerns, and now she hears this, and it's just gonna probably just make it even worse."

Love is Blind Season 8 star Dave feels uncomfortable with Lauren's past relationship

The couple deal with an emotional roadblock in Love is Blind Season 8 Episode 8 when Dave is unsure about how to feel regarding Lauren's past "friends-with-benefits" situation. She has confirmed that things are broken off between them but Dave's friends claim otherwise.

They know the person with whom Lauren was with and are warning him against her. Given the fact that the contestants of the experiment have now got their phones back, he is being flooded with messages about the engagement and his time in the pods during Love is Blind. Talking about Lauren, he said that everyone close to him has already made an image of her in their head.

In a confessional, Dave revealed,

"My friends, they're just like, their first impression already is like, 'Oh, this girl is dating a guy we know.' Apparently, they hung out the Friday before she left on Sunday. And apparently, the guy is like still texting her and trying to see her and stuff. He lives in the fricking building that we moved into.

Trying to analyze what to make of this situation, Dave added,

"It sounds like it was some miscommunication, maybe. Or just some, like, noncommunication on her part where she thought it was over, but, like, didn't end it. He thought they were still together. Maybe the guy is exaggerating or trying to, like, get on TV, but, I don't know."

Previously in Honduras, Dave shared with the guys how he and Lauren haven't been physically been yet. He also made comments about her sleeping habits and how she gets up to use the restroom every hour. On the contrary, Lauren revealed that Dave snores a lot while he sleeps which causes her to get up.
