The plot of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew

The story of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew follows a group of brave children who embark on an adventure that turns out to be more than they bargained for. They end up lost in space and struggle to find their way home. Series creator Jon Watts mentions that the tone of the coming series will be darker than expected.

The official trailer released shows kids living on a forested planet, doing typical activities that include going to school, riding speeder bikes, and looking for adventure. One day they find a perfect opportunity for adventure and leave the planet on what looks like a mercenary spaceship.

The team consists of two girls, Fern and KB, a boy called Wim, and an alien child called Neel, who appears to be an Ortolan but is actually a member of another species. They encounter strange creatures and pirates such as Vane, Nikto's villain from The Mandalorian, who has found a new crew following the death of Gorian Shard on Navarro. They also meet the mysterious stranger Jod Na Nawood, who claims to be a hidden Jedi but seems to have his own agenda.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew will explore how the pirate gangs are exploiting this anarchy in the rising power of the New Republic, which is trying to expand its government across many star systems after the fall of the Empire.
