Prime Video's Invincible Season 3 saw an action-packed finale as Robert Kirkman's superhero Mark Grayson faced off against Conquest, sealing the narrative. The show also managed to pay homage to Kirkman's series The Walking Dead, which has previously seen several easter eggs from the comic series.
A lot of actors from The Walking Dead have even been featured on Invincible, like Khary Payton, Sonequa Martin-Green, Michael Cudlitz, and Ross Marquand.
The most significant crossover, however, is Steven Yeun playing the protagonist Mark Grayson on the show after playing Glenn in The Walking Dead and Jeffrey Dean Morgan playing Conquest after he played Negan In The Walking Dead. Kirkman has commented on his choice to work with Morgan once more, adding that it's a form of justice for fans of both the series. Speaking to Variety, he said,
"I’m always trying to find roles for the actors that I know and love and want to work with again. I’m always trying to find something for Jeffrey....At some point, it became, “When we get to Conquest, Jeffrey Dean Morgan would be perfect for that.”"
Coming from the same mastermind, both the series have had constant crossovers between them and the finale saw Invincible paying a significant homage to the zombie series. A crossover fans got to see in the Invincible season 3 finale Steven Yeun's Mark facing off and winning against Jeffrey Dean Morgan's Conquest after the duo had a previous duel in The Walking Dead as Glenn and Negan ended with the latter killing Glenn. Getting to see both actors in action once again was a significant moment in the finale and one that fans of both franchises saw as a treat.
Commenting on the rematch between both the actors, Kirkman said,
There is the meta of it all like, “Oh, it’s the rematch between Glenn and Negan, and now Glenn gets to win.” Something about it seemed fun and interesting.
Another parallel fans noticed was as the climax sees Mark fighting against Conquest and in an attempt to break free from him, he bites a part of his shoulder out and saves himself. This scene appears parallel to Rick and Joe's altercation in The Walking Dead where the former takes down Joe by attacking his throat.
Will there be a season 4 for Invincible?

Yes! Robert Kirkman is returning with Mark Grayson for a fourth season of the show. As Invincible Season 3 wraps up, it has already received positive reviews among fans. After taking down Conquest, Grayson will be set to return with his heroic duties and Kirkman has confirmed that fans could watch the fourth season as early as 2026.
Not just that. The creator also commented on how many seasons he sees the show going for, surprising fans with his answer as he talked about the possibility of going up to eleven seasons. When asked for how long the show will stay around, Kirkman told The Direct,
"I try to answer this question differently every time, so sometimes I say 7, sometimes I say 8, sometimes I say 9. Who knows? Who knows? I think the goal is to adapt the entire comic. I think the most honest answer I can give is: hopefully the show's going to be around for a while, but you know we've only been picked up through Season 4. But the show's doing very well, so you know, fingers crossed that we get to go for 11 seasons or more."
Invincible Season 3 is available to stream on Prime Video.
