The popular serial killer Dexter Morgan had many personal ties in his life in Dexter, many of whom were serial killers themselves.

From his biological brother to his romantic interest in Season 6, Hannah McKay, there is no doubt that he attracts other serial killers. Hannah was a fellow serial killer who started a relationship with Dexter after he started investigating her for the murders concerning Wayne.

Later in the series, Debra becomes adamant about sending Hannah to prison for the murders of Jake and Sal. Hannah poisons her water and tries to kill Debra, after which she blacks out and has a car accident.

More on Hannah's character in Dexter in our story.

Who were Hannah's victims before she met Dexter?

There is no doubt that Dexter is always attracted to people like him, and his romantic relationship with Hannah proves that. As a child, Hannah had a brush with death a few times, which later transformed her into a serial killer.

People around her mysteriously died of heart attacks, hinting Hannah had a hand in murdering them. Her first brush with killing was when she was on a killing spree with Wayne Randall, where she stabbed a woman till she stopped screaming. She later framed Wayne for the murders and was instead sent to a juvenile because she was underage.

In the juvie, Hannah murdered her counselor, who sexually assaulted her. She poisoned him with rat poison.

Her killing urges did not stop after she was released from prison. She also murdered her ex-husband, Jake Kirkwood, and made it appear that he died of a heart attack.

Later, she also murdered Beverly Grey, her mentor, when she was working at the Greenhouse. Her blood samples had traces of aconite, which were found in a plant in Hannah's home. Like her other victims, she made Beverly's death also look like a heart attack.

With the help of Sal Price, Debra was adamant about putting Hannah behind bars. With Jack's sister's help, he put in a request to exhume the ex-husband's body to prove that he did not die of a heart attack but was poisoned by Hannah.

But since Hannah did not have Jake's body embalmed, which meant that his tissues were destroyed and there was no evidence to prove that she killed her ex-husband.

As Dexter progressed, Debra became adamant about putting Hannah behind bars, especially after she killed Sal by poisoning him. She even asked Dexter to kill her, which he denied.

In Dexter Season 7 Episode 11, Hannah visits Debra at her beach house, where Debra is sipping water from her water bottle. The next morning, Debra blacks out while driving and has a car accident.

While Dexter first believes that Debra had too much Xanax, after he discovers a blonde hair at the beach house, he is sure that Hannah had a hand in Debra's poisoning. He sent Debra's water sample to the lab, which confirmed that it had 40% alprazolam, and it was confirmed that Hannah had poisoned her water.

Believing that his sister will never be safe around Hannah, he gives her the poisoned pen that was used in Sal Price's murder. After obtaining this evidence, Debra arrests Hannah, and she is put behind bars. It was revealed in Dexter: New Blood that Hannah died of pancreatic cancer.
