The ninth episode of Love is Blind: Habibi aired recently on Netflix on October 10, 2024. Being one of the popular show franchises on the platform, fans eagerly await such shows and binge-watch them. The social experiment started with 20 participants looking for their "soul mate."
The final phase of the social experiment, in which engaged couples reveal their decision to get married or not, featured three couples. One of the couples comprised Dounia, 24, and Chafic, 27.

Despite being in love and wanting to pursue their relationship further, they agreed to take some more time. The couple shared a phone call before the wedding ceremony and confided in each other. Hence, they did not officially get married in Love is Blind: Habibi.
Netflix describes Love is Blind: Habibi as,
"The experiment remains the same: Singles go on a series of "blind" dates in separate pods with the hope of finding their soulmates. Couples meet face-to-face only after they're engaged, then spend four weeks testing their relationship back in the real world."
What happened with Dounia and Chafic on Love is Blind: Habibi? The couple's wedding ceremony explored
Episode 9 of the social dating experiment featured Dounia and Chafic's wedding ceremony. Both of them seem excited and happy about their big day. However, Dounia felt a "little bit confused" and was on "shaky ground" before the ceremony.
"It's a decision that could shape my future life and Chafic's, as well."
Soon, her sister Rima, who Dounia described as her "role model," joined her and discussed getting married. She described making the "right decision" was what mattered.
"Try to be selfish a bit. Not in a negative way. Selfish in a positive way. I mean, make the right decision because if something happens in the future, you won't get hurt alone. Everyone will. Especially mom."
On the other hand, Chafic was accompanied by his close friends. It included Brian and Khaldoun. They also discussed "wedding tips" and more.
When the time finally came, and the bride and groom made it to the altar, the big question awaited them. Show hosts Elham Ali and Khalen Saqer and the participants' families were present.
When Dounia faced the question of whether to get married or not, she shared,
"I found my other half. But, for today… I'll say no. Chafic and I made a decision together. It was based on the will of us both. So, today, we won't get married, unfortunately."
Soon, Love is Blind: Habibi star walked away from the altar, which surprised many guests. She went to sit outside by herself, where Chafic joined her.
Dounia confessed that the decision was made at "the very last moment." She was already in her wedding dress. However, after she was under a "bit of stress," she called Chafic and had a conversation over the call.
"And we both agreed that it's true; we're both feeling the same thing."
The phone call between the couple was then revealed when they mutually agreed not to get married on that day. Chafic shared that no one could "stand between" him and Dounia. He added that nothing would change between them.
Soon, Chafic went outside and sat with Dounia, who shared that "good things" take time. The male cast member agreed with her. He added that he had "stuff to achieve." They then discussed how they needed "more time" for their professional and future lives.
Dounia called their decision a "wise choice." The couple also discussed their families needing to spend more time together. Despite choosing not to get married on Love is Blind: Habibi, the participants agreed to stay together and explore their connection before the big commitment.
