CBS's Fire Country Season 3 is on a holiday hiatus, and no new episodes are aired on the network. However, to keep the audiences hooked and updated, the network is currently airing scheduled reruns of the show in its usual time slots.
But it looks like CBS has pulled the plug on this week's repeated episode of Fire Country amidst the LA wildfires, which have already taken the lives of thousands of people since they started on Tuesday morning.
This decision is to honor the lives lost, as the show would hit a little close, seeing the grave condition California state is currently facing.
CBS will instead air reruns of NCIS: Sydney at 9 pm and 10 pm, respectively. More on CBS's decision to not show Fire Country episodes this week in our story.
No Fire Country rerun on CBS amidst LA Wildfires
Since many CBS shows are still on a holiday hiatus, there are scheduled reruns of the past episodes to catch up with the audience for when the show will return with new episodes. But it looks like CBS will not air repeat telecasts of Fire Country out of respect for all the lives lost in the Los Angeles Wildfire in California.
According to a report by the Associated Press, the Palisades and the Eaton fires started on Tuesday morning and have already burned about 4.5 square miles (11.6 square kilometers). Soon evacuation drills were in order, which caused a traffic jam in the area, causing a severe emergency alert in the area.
Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency, and the fire department called all off-duty firefighters to help rescue victims in the LA Wildfires, which the Santa Ana Winds further fueled. Thousands of buildings have been destroyed, and more than 7,500 firefighters and emergency personnel have been deployed to assist the stranded victims.
Since Fire Country would have hit too close to home, CBS has decided not to air repeat episodes. This sensitive step is taken to not further distress the lives lost in the LA Wildfires.
When will Fire Country return with new episodes?
Fire Country Season 3 released its Episode 8 on December 13, 2024, following which the show went on a holiday hiatus.
Fans eagerly await their favorite show's return, and Season 3 Episode 9 will be released on January 31, 2025. With the introduction of Jared Padalecki as a new cast member, the story in the first eight episodes already took the show in a new direction, and fans are eagerly waiting for what will happen next on the show for Bode.
Before the show broke for a holiday break, showrunner Tia Napolitano discussed the show's possibilities in an interview with TVLine:
"Early when we were breaking the season, I wanted to put two people in a pool for sure. And I didn’t know who, probably Bode and somebody, but at one point it was like a bunch of people, and we knew we wanted to put a lot of people in danger early. That’s always the goal.''
She added:
''It’s like what’s the danger going to look like? And then Gabriela’s story led us to a place where we felt like she could walk off the job. And then of course, what does that mean for Manny kind of story organically led to how and where we put people in peril."
The next episode of Season 3 will come out on January 31, 2025.
