In Dexter: Resurrection, which is a continuation of the series Dexter: New Blood, Michael C. Hall will be back as Dexter Morgan, the serial killer. At the end of New Blood, Dexter was shot by his own son, Harrison, shocking many of the viewers of the serial killer’s impending death. However, in the prequel series, Dexter: Original Sin, it was hinted that Dexter might have been alive after the tragic incident.

Therefore, we’re getting a new show with a title teasing that Dexter is surely back from the dead. The synopsis of the show reads:

"Takes place weeks after Dexter Morgan (Hall) takes a bullet to the chest from his own son, as he awakens from a coma to find Harrison (Jack Alcott) gone without a trace. Realizing the weight of what he put his son through, Dexter sets out for New York City, determined to find him and make things right. But closure won’t come easy. When Miami Metro’s Angel Batista (David Zayas) arrives with questions, Dexter realizes his past is catching up to him fast. As father and son navigate their own darkness in the city that never sleeps, they soon find themselves deeper than they ever imagined—and that the only way out is together."

The new show will depict new challenges as Dexter tries to find his son while also dealing with the echoes of the past resurfacing.
