Episode 8 of Dexter: Original Sin, titled “Business and Pleasure,” revealed shocking twists, including the truth behind Jimmy Powell’s murder and Nicky’s kidnapping. It is finally confirmed that Aaron Spencer is responsible. He keeps his son unconscious with sleeping pills while setting up an elaborate scheme.

Dexter shares his theory with Harry, but his adoptive father dismisses it. Harry thinks Dexter is projecting his dark thoughts onto others and insists that Aaron, whom he has known for years, is not a suspect. Instead, Harry urges Dexter to focus on finding Debra.

Debra is enjoying time with Gio at his apartment. Gio invites Debra on a business trip to Bimini, Bahamas, while she is enjoying time at his apartment. Everything seems perfect until Debra notices a large box being loaded onto Gio’s yacht.

When she becomes curious, Gio distracts her with an expensive diamond bracelet. The gesture sweeps her off her feet, and in the heat of the moment, she tells him she loves him.

Dexter tracks down Debra and finds the truth

Following Harry’s advice, Dexter starts searching for his sister. Using information from Sofia and the police database, he finds Gio’s address. There, he meets a woman who shocks him with the truth. Gio is already engaged! She also tells Dexter where to find him, leading him to Bimini.

By the time Dexter arrives, Debra’s suspicions have grown. She tries to investigate the mystery box, but Gio stops her before she can open it. The box likely contains drugs or something illegal. This realization shatters Debra, leading to their breakup. As she struggles with her emotions, Dexter appears and takes her away from the island.

Although Harry warned him to drop the case, Dexter can’t ignore his gut feeling. When Dexter returns to work, Aaron assigns him a stack of cold-case files to review. Dexter immediately suspects it is a distraction to keep him from investigating Nicky’s disappearance.

Dexter decides to secretly follow Aaron after work. He watches as Aaron hands over a bag and a large sum of cash to a young man, who then takes them to a house. Later, the police receive a tip that Nicky was spotted at a drug cartel stash house, the same house the young man went to after meeting Aaron.

About the shootout

The Miami PD raids the house and finds Nicky’s bloodied t-shirt. Inside, Aaron and his team hold two men and a woman at gunpoint, trying to get information. Suddenly, a violent shootout breaks out. The police kill all three suspects, but not before Bobby Watt is shot and seriously wounded.

During the chaos, Dexter finds the same bag Aaron had given the young man earlier, confirming that the police captain planted evidence. It becomes clear that Aaron is using his son’s kidnapping as an excuse to take down drug cartel members, but his exact motive remains a mystery.

While reviewing patient files, Harry makes a shocking discovery - one of the names on the list is Brian Moser, who is revealed to be Dexter’s biological brother! Brian is also the son of Laura, Harry’s former partner and secret lover.

Harry finds disturbing details in Brian’s records, including how his affair with Laura affected her family. Fearing that this information could be exposed, Harry destroys the evidence and hides Brian’s file. However, LaGuerta stumbles upon it later, though she doesn’t have enough time to fully read it.

Flashbacks reveal that Hector Estrada, a notorious cartel leader, discovered Laura’s affair with Harry. As revenge, Estrada’s gang kidnaps Laura and her two sons, leading to a tragic fate that shapes Dexter’s dark destiny.

Episode 8 provided crucial revelations about Aaron Spencer’s hidden agenda, Dexter’s past, and Debra’s emotional turmoil. With the truth slowly coming out, Dexter is more determined than ever to uncover what Aaron is really up to. As tensions rise, the next episode is sure to bring even more twists and dangerous confrontations.
