What sets apart Dexter: Original Sin is the plotline of the series. It will take viewers back to Miami in 1991 when Dexter Morgan was a student exploring his path to becoming a serial killer. The prequel will feature the events 15 years before the original Dexter series which premiered on Showtime in 2006.

The young lad will take a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department, where his adoptive father Harry Morgan works. Dexter's childhood trauma of seeing his mother being brutally killed injected him with pain and an urge to kill people who escaped justice. The official synopsis of Dexter: Original Sin reads:

"When his bloodthirsty urges can’t be ignored any longer, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness. With the guidance of his father, Harry, he adopts a code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on law enforcement’s radar."

He only executes criminals based on The Code of Harry, the guidelines given by his father to eliminate the wrong-doers at night. Since Harry Morgan discovered Dexter's thoughts of becoming a killer from the beginning, he trained him to do justice in a twisted form.

Who is playing Dexter Morgan in Dexter: Original Sin?

Since Hall will only narrate the story, the leading role of Dexter Morgan will be played by Patrick Gibson. The actor can be seen in the teaser of Dexter: Original Sin, in which he's preparing for college and gives a creepy smile at the end.

Apart from the titular character, Harry Morgan is played by Christian Slater, Molly Brown will play Dexter's sister Debra Morgan, Sarah Michelle Gellar will be seen playing Tanya Martin, Patrick Dempsey as Aaron Spencer the Captain of the Miami Metro Homicide, Christina Milian helmed Maria LaGuerta, Reno Wilson as Bobby Watt, James Martinez as Angel Batista, and many other actors in smaller roles.
