She was known for her stern parenting methods, and all of this was to make them learn the lessons of life. Ruby even tried to display a perfect, happy, and flawless family to her viewers.
However, in one of her clips, she once accidentally shared a horrific detail about how she sometimes deprived her children of basic life necessities like food and a place to sleep. The incident not only caught the attention of the authorities but also caused a social media outrage.
The matter immediately escalated, and an active investigation led to the arrest of Ruby as well as her business associate Jodi - who was involved with her in a podcast thing. Per People Magazine, Ruby, along with her business, got four years of imprisonment with a potential extension of up to 60 years, considering the severity of the crimes committed. The YouTuber has received praise over the years and has been supported by her followers for having an ideal family. Franke, known for a parenting advice stream 8 Passengers, portrayed an image of a contented family, but behind the scenes, disturbing realities emerged.
As prosecutors stated, the children were thriving amidst a “concentration camp-like setting.” The series explores Ruby’s involvement with controversial counselor Jodi Hildebrandt, who played a key role in the family's spiral into turmoil.
