The Autumn Week of The Great British Bake Off witnessed the elimination of one of the most loved home bakers, Nelly, on October 29, which left fans dejected.
Nelly, a 44-year-old palliative care assistant, hailed from Dorset and developed a passion for baking from her father. It was only in her adulthood that she became inclined toward baking after trying a neighbor's gingerbread recipe.

Nelly was a ball of happiness and always joked around with her cheerful attitude, even in the toughest situations. She had a short but glorious run in The Great British Bake Off Season 15. Fans were disheartened by her elimination and took to X to express their disappointment. One fan took to X and commented:

The Autumn Week sends one more baker home from The Great British Bake Off 2024
The Great British Bake Off 2024 premiered on September 24 in the UK and was broadcast by Channel 4, and for US viewers the show aired three days later on Netflix.
Season 15 welcomed 12 house bakers from all over the UK to show their skill, fitness, and artistry in baking. The judges' panel welcomed back Paul Holly with his famous "Handshake" and Prue Leith along with entertaining hosts Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond.
The show had eliminated 5 home bakers, and in Week 6, Nelly, a loved baker by the hosts, judges, and, all alike, bid farewell to the show. In Autumn Week, contestants had to bake three seasonal-based delights. In the Signature round, bakers were challenged to make an autumn season-inspired pie. Christiaan's "Forest Cano-pie" was the highlight of the first round.
For the Technical round of The Great British Bake Off, a vegan version of Parkin was on the table as the challenge which was aced by Illiyin. In the Showstopper round, Sumayah impressed the judges and took the badge of Star Baker in Week 6 of The Great British Bake Off. Nelly, however, could not balance out her Autumnal seasoned cake and made it overcomplicated.
The Dorset home bake expressed that she was proud of her journey and told Independent Magazine after elimination:
"It’s not commiseration, it is a positive, I am so ready to leave. I never ever thought I would get to round six. I know my children are so proud."
The Great British Bake Off 2024 airs a fresh episode on every Tuesday at 8 pm BST on Channel 4.
