Dateline has covered numerous high-profile criminal cases, and the story of 17-year-old Nikita Casap is among them. Instead of following the typical path of focusing on his studies and future, his life took an unexpected and tragic turn.

Dateline has shared this case on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, which reveals how Nikita Casap killed his parents, Tatiana Casap and Donald Mayer (stepfather), and pretended nothing had happened to them. Not only this, the teenager kept their dead bodies hidden inside the house and lived with them for more than a week.

The murders allegedly took place around February 11, but their bodies were not discovered until February 28, 2025. Mayer's mother had been trying to reach his son for some days, and since he didn't answer any of her calls, a welfare check was conducted.

During the check, Nikita wasn't home, and the authorities found the bodies in horrifying conditions. The teenager hid his mother's dead body in a blanket while Mayers was discovered on the first floor of the house.

Dateline hasn't revealed the episode's release date or title yet. But the true-crime show is expected to dive deep into the details soon.

As mentioned above, Dateline has highlighted teenager Nikita Casap's case on its official X account, which is soon expected to be covered in the true crime show. The 17-year-old from Waukesha, Wisconsin, is a student who continued his daily routine after the killings.

He reportedly attended school the very next day and even maintained communication with teachers, employers, and family members by using his parents' online accounts. This way, he was hiding his crimes and faking that his parents were alive.

While he shot his mother several times, Casap's stepfather died of a single gunshot. These disturbing details prove how far Nikita had gone, as there wasn't any apparent reason to kill them.

Another chilling discovery was made on a camera memory card found at the house. Per CourtTV, the teenager recorded a video one week after the murders. With candles all around, Nikita Casap was heard saying:

"So you can see him there. I can literally see the f—— (expletive) rotting body."

This way, Casap wasn't just living with two corpses but also documenting his heinous crime.

While the dead bodies were discovered on February 28, Nikita Casap had reportedly moved away from the house on February 23 with $14,000 in cash. He used his stepfather's car to flee, and his device's data revealed he traveled to almost four states.

He was finally arrested on Feb. 28 during a traffic stop in WaKeeney, Kansas. The authorities found the weapon, gun shells, and even Mayer's driving license.

As a result, Nikita Casap is held accountable for several serious crimes, including first-degree murder, identity theft, and hiding a body. With a bail set at $1 million, his first hearing in court is scheduled for April 9, 2025.
