Dateline: The Haunted House Confession follows the case of Rhonda Chantay Blankinship

As per the official synopsis of the episode,

“After 25-year-old Chantay Blankinship’s remains are found at an abandoned building that locals call the Haunted House, investigators sort through dead-end leads until a stunning confession during a church service changes everything.”

In the episode preview, viewers can hear Blayne Alexander saying,

“The few people who know it’s here call it the haunted house. But one night, the horror became real … The killer was probably among them. The search for justice would lead to a different house. Not in the woods or the brush, a house of worship.”

Throughout the episode, Alexander is shown to be talking to the church members, investigators, and various other people who were aware of the case. The episode ultimately reveals that Ryan Riggs was the killer. Riggs confessed to his crime. He knew Chantay Blankinship from North Lake Community Church, which they both attended.

While Blankenship's disappearance occurred in 2016, it took three years for justice to be delivered, and in 2019, Riggs was sentenced to a lifetime prison sentence without any option of parole.
