Here are 5 details about Quinn Gray's fake kidnapping as shown in Dateline: Ransom.
Dateline: 5 details about Quinn Gray's fake kidnapping
1) Dateline victim Quinn Gray left a note for her husband before her kidnapping
In September 2009, Reid Gray, a wealthy healthcare executive from Florida, found a terrifying note from his wife, Quinn Gray, stating that three men had kidnaped her.
According to CBS News, the note read:
"There are three men holding me right now, and they want $50,000 cash. Stay at the house NO COPS! Keep your cell phone on you. Keep the kids with you. Please do this honey, please!"
Reid eventually called St. John's County Sheriff's Office which led to a long manhunt for Quinn, during which the police spent around $90,000 on the investigation.
2) Reid received several phone calls from his wife while she was "abducted"
After Reid found the note, his wife contacted him at least six times on call to reveal details about the mistreatment she has been receiving and asked him to drop $50,000 at a nearby Chik-Fil-A restaurant.
However, when the police were spotted outside, she asked her husband to call off the operation of handing off the money.
3) The police found discrepancies in Quinn's story when she showed up

As told on Dateline, Quinn Gary unexpectedly showed up at a local mall and was later taken by the local police to the FBI. She revealed that three men abducted her from her house because of a $50,000 debt her husband owed to the loan sharks, and added:
“It was a complete nightmare. I keep revisiting that room every time I close my eyes. I thought that’s where I would die.”
Quinn's inconsistent statements raised suspicion among the police, leading them to believe that she was concealing important information from them. She finally gave one of her abductor's names, Jasmin Osmanovic, a car mechanic.
4) Jasmin Osmanovic turned out to be Quinn's co-conspirator and lover
When police found Jasmin Osmanovic on September 14, 2009, they discovered that the 25-year-old man was not Quinn's abductor but her co-conspirator and the woman had faked her kidnapping to extort money from her husband.
He revealed how he met Quinn months before at a gas station, and the two eventually formed a romantic relationship because she was unhappy with Reid. Jasmin also revealed that it was Quinn's idea of a fake kidnapping and while the police were searching for her, she was spending time with him at a motel in Jacksonville.
He was sentenced to six years probation and was asked to pay $43,000 to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office (half of the amount spent on Quinn's investigation)
5) Quinn was accused of violating her probation in 2011
While Reid maintained that his wife was mentally unable, she eventually divorced him, and Quinn was sentenced to seven years of probation and was asked to pay the other half of investigation fees,
However, in 2011, the probation officer filed a formal case against Quinn for appearing in NBC Dateline (which violated her probation terms) and failing to short on her fees.
She eventually married again in 2013 but divorced after three years and became a yoga teacher.
