Daryl Dixon Season 1 generated quite a buzz among fans of the OG series The Walking Dead. The character played by Norman Reedus has been a favorite since first appearing in season 1 of the legacy show. Daryl is the ultimate survivor with unmatched skills in surviving a zombie apocalypse.
Furthermore, he’s sharp not just with a crossbow but also with his mind—he’s highly intellectual and can navigate any less than ideal scenario. Years after The Walking Dead concluded, fans petitioned for a spin-off featuring just Daryl’s journey post-conclusion of the show. This was a wish AMC+ happily granted.
Daryl Dixon recently ended with a banger season 1 (set in France), resulting in the show’s renewal for season 2. Although filming wrapped up last December, there has yet to be a release date. In the meantime, the characters set to return have been confirmed.

1) Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon
Norman Reedus plays the protagonist of the series Daryl Dixon. As mentioned, Daryl first made an appearance in season 1 of The Walking Dead and has since remained a favorite of the show. He’s resourceful, clever, and skilled beyond measure with a crossbow, knife, and hand-to-hand combat.
However, his biggest pet peeve is his choice to be a lone wolf. Even in the legacy show, Daryl seldom accepted help, even when backed into a corner with zombies hot on his heels. The only person who helped him come out of his shell (sparingly) was Carol.
2) Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier
Another alum of The Walking Dead, Carol Peletier, played by Melissa McBride, is Daryl’s most trusted friend and ally in Daryl Dixon. Although the two are speculated to have a brewing romance, their friendship to date remains platonic. Carol is an incredibly fierce, bold, and dangerous character who learned survival the hard way.
Despite her tumultuous journey as a mother, she’s assisted Daryl on multiple occasions on the show. Although she was unable to appear often in season 1 due to a clash in her schedules, McBride’s character earned a major upgrade to series regular for season 2.
3) Laïka Blanc Francard as Sylvie
Daryl Dixon Season 1 saw the introduction of several new and integral characters on the show—Sylvie being one of them. Played by French actress Laïka Blanc-Francard, Sylvie is almost as fierce as Carol. Before becoming a permanent member of The Union of Hope, Sylvie was a dedicated nun in France before the zombie apocalypse began.
Throughout season 1, Sylvie exhibits traits of compassion and gentleness to all those around her—especially Laurent (her cousin) and her beau Emile. While she has retained some qualities from her time as a nun, Sylvie can be quite the gangster with a shotgun—a weapon she sports the entire season for protection.
4) Manish Dayal as Ash
Daryl Dixon Season 2 is set to feature Manish Dayal’s character, Ash. Since season 2 is set to introduce Dayal’s character, Ash’s exact description remains under wraps.
However, per AMC’s announcement, Dayal’s character was an engineer before the zombie apocalypse hit, hailing from Boston. Shortly after encountering the afflictions, he stationed himself in Maine.
According to Sky, Ash is very detail-oriented and disciplined about his daily routine. Moreover, he is an enigma in the series, especially because he visits an off-limits greenhouse located in his backyard.
Dayal broke the news on his Instagram shortly after AMC’s announcement, thrilling fans. Whether he’s a friend or a foe remains to be seen.
5) Clémence Poésy as Isabelle Carriere
Harry Potter alum Clémence Poésy made a stellar appearance in season 1 of Daryl Dixon and is set to reprise her role in the upcoming season 2 of the show. Isabelle is a rather complex character with a tainted background before she became a nun at the Saint Bernadette Abbey.
Isabelle was a very disturbed individual who heavily indulged in drugs, sometimes leading her to do questionable things. After the apocalypse, Isabelle was put through an emotional wringer and endured the aftermath of her choices. Despite everything, like Sylvie, she too practices imparting kindness and love.
6) Anne Charrier as Marion Genet
It appears that Madame Genet will be back in season 2 of Daryl Dixon! Anne Charrier plays the vindictive Madame Marion Genet on the show. Genet transformed herself into a powerful woman with influence across France.
However, her tactic was using both intimidation and gimmicks to gain control over people's support. Charrier’s character holds a firm belief in bringing forth the 6th French Republic.
Before she rose to unbelievable power, Genet’s day job was as a security guard at a local museum. However, after the zombies began emerging, she pulled up her big-girl pants and took charge. She and Daryl seldom see eye to eye, given that she wants to destroy all that he holds dear.
7) Louis Puech Scigliuzzi as Laurent
Season 1 of Daryl Dixon marks the debut of newbie actor Louis Puech Scigliuzzi in the entertainment industry. The young lad has already made quite an impression on fans since appearing on the show. Laurent had a rather dark and rough past, especially since his mother turned into a walker while she was still pregnant with him.
It was Isabelle who rescued young Laurent while his mom was in the process of turning. While he does have a gist of what’s happening in the world, his views and knowledge about the gravity of it all are very limited—Isabelle ensures the same. Although he’s brilliant in intellect, he’s a kid after all, and acts without thinking. That is until he meets Daryl—the duo hit it off immediately!
8) Romain Levi as Stephane Codron
Romain Levi plays the ruthless Stephane Codron in Daryl Dixon Season 1. Codron is a cutthroat member of the Power of the Living. He is anything but kind and is a merciless executioner for the gang. Despite his bloodlust (bound by orders from the top brass), Codron has a line he’d never cross: killing children.
Since he is a bit of a leader in the aforementioned unit, Codron is a gifted fighter whose abilities are on par with Daryl’s in the series. Like the protagonist, Codron is a survivor and is a master of the weapons he picks. Codron's most prominent feature is the tattoo on his right cheek.
9) Eriq Ebouaney as Fallou Boukar
Legendary actor Eriq Ebouaney plays the fearless and noble chief of The Montmartre Rooftop Community in Daryl Dixon Season 1. He’s the kind of leader who leaves no man behind and cares for every inhabitant in the community, willing to do anything to protect them.
Boukar has greatly assisted and relied on Daryl’s expertise in safeguarding his community. Boukar also rescued Daryl from being killed off by the Power of the Living group in the nick of time.
Moreover, he grows to become a man Daryl greatly trusts—a rare feat. Before he became who he was, Boukar was reportedly a famed artist when the world was zombie-free.
