The midseason trailer for Daredevil: Born Again featured a team-up between two of the unlikeliest characters, Daredevil and Frank Castle/The Punisher. It looks like a militarized task force has invaded Matt Murdock's place, and there they are met by Daredevil. As the force overwhelms the hero, The Man Without Fear is probably going to get an assist from Frank.
This team-up has fans wondering if Frank Castle will be returning in Daredevil: Born Again Episode 7, after appearing in the fourth one, "Sic Semper Systema." For now, nothing is confirmed, but this hasn't stopped fans from speculating about the team-up between the two characters they've been waiting for almost an entire decade.
What was Daredevil: Born Again last episode about?
The sixth episode of Daredevil: Born Again, "Excessive Force," finally sees Matt Murdock don the Daredevil Cowl again after hanging it up in the prologue of the first episode. Matt's return as Daredevil after his retirement, while set up in the third season of the Netflix series, was slowly built up in Born Again. The first five episodes of the series show us why the MCU New York needs Daredevil and its other heroes.
This is the episode in which Muse plays a larger role as the mayor's office, police, and Matt all learn about the serial killer muralist. Angela, the deceased White Tiger/Hector Ayala's niece, prompts Matt to do something about all the disappearances in the tunnels (for which Muse is responsible, unknown to her). When Matt refuses, a disappointed Angela endangers herself by visiting the tunnels.
When Hector's widow calls Matt, informing him about Angela's phone being unreachable, Matt suits up and saves Angela's life. However, as Daredevil: Born Again Episode 7 begins, we can expect Mayor Wilson Fisk to decide to use his political power to go after Murdock, whom he is aware moonlights as Daredevil.
The sixth episode features a scene in which Fisk meets all the cops with accusations of brutality to invite them to join his newly formed anti-vigilante task force. As the first few episodes suggested, some of these officers have the Punisher's skull tattooed on their hand or neck. Thus, the show promises to tackle the complicated real-world issue in which police officers have co-opted the character's skull.
Will Frank Castle confront the police who have corrupted his symbol in Daredevil: Born Again Episode 7?
While the trailer above does feature moments of Castle confronting some armed forces, it can't be confirmed that it is from the upcoming seventh episode that's streaming on April 1, 2025. The episode may end with Fisk ordering the task force to go after Daredevil, and the next one, i.e., the eighth one, will see the confrontation between The Man Without Fear and the police officers.
As the force may overpower Daredevil, The Punisher may join the fight to help someone who is the literal opposite of him. The synopsis reads,
"In Marvel Television’s 'Daredevil: Born Again', Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), a blind lawyer with heightened abilities, is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course."
Daredevil: Born Again, Episode 7 will stream on Disney+ on April 1, 2025.
