The new Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again left fans buzzing. It subtly contained tiny teases regarding Spider-Man, but the majority of fans might not have noticed them. These teasers indicate that Spider-Man and Daredevil might meet in the future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The series picks up the life of Matt Murdock, a lawyer who is blind but takes on crime as Daredevil in New York City. There are little moments throughout the season that connect his universe to Spider-Man's. Spider-Man may not be seen on screen, but the show leaves enough cues to have viewers anticipating a potential crossover.

Spider-Man references in Daredevil: Born Again

Kingpin speaks about a "Spider Suit"

In Episode 2, Wilson Fisk (also known as Kingpin) gives a speech while running for mayor. During his talk, he says New York doesn’t need people who wear masks and fight crime. He even brings up “a man who dresses in a spider outfit.”

This is the first time Kingpin directly refers to Spider-Man in the Daredevil series. This little line informs us that Spider-Man shares a world with Daredevil and that Kingpin is aware of him.

A nod to Miles Morales?

There is another moment that occurs in a courtroom setting. Matt Murdock has several officers listed by name, and one of them is "Officer Morales." This could be an allusion to Jefferson Morales, the father of Miles Morales, who becomes Spider-Man in some Marvel tales.

Daredevil: Born Again, it doesn't verify that this Morales is related to Miles, but it might be a little way of teasing that Miles might appear in the MCU down the line.

How Daredevil and Spider-Man connect

The themes in Daredevil: Born Again match with what we’ve seen in Spider-Man: No Way Home. In that movie, Peter Parker is alone and dealing with the cost of being a hero. Daredevil also faces similar struggles, trying to help people while the public and the law don’t always agree with him.

These parallels create a connection between the two heroes. They both operate individually, use masks, and safeguard the citizens of New York. Fans of the comics are well aware that Daredevil and Spider-Man have collaborated numerous times in the past. Now, it appears that the show is laying the groundwork for something like this on the screen.

What this could mean for the MCU

The clues in Daredevil: Born Again, they appear to be sowing the seeds for something larger. In Spider-Man: No Way Home, Matt Murdock already assisted Peter Parker in a short scene. This indicates that the two superheroes are familiar with one another in the MCU.

As per reports, the showrunner of Daredevil: Born Again was not at fault for the Spider-Man reference. That implies Marvel Studios might be cooking up something more than this series. There are also speculations regarding upcoming projects such as Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which might reunite these characters.

Will Miles Morales appear?

The reference to Officer Morales could be more than merely a humorous fact. In the comics, Miles Morales becomes Spider-Man following Peter Parker. Should Marvel wish to introduce Miles, Daredevil may have a role to play within his narrative. Perhaps as an ally or as a mentor figure.

No official announcement has been made, but fans are optimistic. With the subtle hints laid out this season, it seems that Marvel is preparing to bring Miles into the MCU.

Daredevil: Born Again subtly alludes to an even greater connection to Spider-Man. Kingpin's comment on a "spider outfit" and the moniker "Officer Morales" imply that Marvel is laying the groundwork for upcoming crossovers.

These subtle details might create a team-up with Peter Parker or even introduce Miles Morales. For the moment, Spider-Man remains off-stage—but the signals are obvious that something greater could be on the horizon.
