Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 Episode 4 recap

In Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 Episode 4, titled "Sic Semper Systema," things get hot for Matt Murdock as he attempts to come to terms with all the emotions that surround Hector Ayala's murder.

The series begins with him at Hector's funeral, where he meets Angela, Hector's frustrated niece, who is coming to terms with her loss and the injustice of it all. On the opposite side of the city, Wilson Fisk, now the Mayor, is also having a bad day. He's got his private life to contend with, both with Vanessa and Adam.

And not to forget, this is the episode in which Jon Bernthal's Punisher reenters the fray! Frank Castle and Matt share a tense reunion, and Frank gets incredibly in Matt's grill about the fact that he's still wrecked over what's happened to Foggy.

Their major confrontation becomes a dramatic scene in which Matt physically takes out his anger, but you can tell he's trying to cope with his screwed-up emotions. And when you're sure things can't get any bleaker, Fisk reveals his true character by imprisoning Adam, even though he talks about forgiveness.

The episode has us waiting with a cliffhanger that makes it appear that the pandemonium is just beginning, and we can see Daredevil return more potent than ever as Matt starts to deal with his inner demons and regain his life.

It's undoubtedly laying the groundwork for battles to ensue!

What to expect in Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 Episode 5?

In the next Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 Episode 5, we're looking for a massive escalation of the fight between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk.

Following the heavy action in Episode 4 with Hector Ayala's passing and all the emotional baggage with Frank Castle, this one will get into the complex decisions these guys are making. Matt will return to being Daredevil and take the heat for why he initially began fighting crime.

We're also anticipating a jaw-dropping showdown between Daredevil and Kingpin because, come on, their past grudge is going to come back to bite them.

And, of course, things can only get more bonkers with some new danger looming on the horizon, disrupting everyone's dysfunctional lives in Hell's Kitchen. Buckle up for a cliffhanger in Episode 5 because it's going to be a season-changer.

The series continues with new episodes dropping every Tuesday.
