Daredevil: Born Again is slated to premiere on Disney+ on March 4, 2025. Set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the series will be the second television series based on the superhero after Netflix’s Daredevil, which aired from 2015 to 2018.

The series tells the story of Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer with extraordinary physical abilities. Charlie Cox, who became a fan-favorite with his portrayal of the lawyer in the previous show, reprises his role in the new series.

While the Netflix show was set outside the MCU, Daredevil: Born Again brings the superhero into the Marvel timeline. The show will be part of the franchise’s Phase Five, ongoing since 2023.

When will Daredevil: Born Again be released?

Daredevil: Born Again will debut on Disney+ on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. The first season will comprise nine episodes. Disney+ usually airs new episodes of its shows weekly after a two-episode premiere, and Daredevil: Born Again is expected to follow the same release trend.

While the series was initially planned to be released in the spring of 2024, its production got delayed due to the writers’ and actors’ strikes in 2023. Meanwhile, it also went through some creative changes as the initial directors were replaced with a new team. The release date was finally confirmed at the New York Comic Con in October 2024.

What will Daredevil: Born Again be about?

The show follows Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, who are busy with their lives. While Murdock uses his law firm to fight injustice, Fisk has given up on the crime world to become a political leader. However, when the two reencounter their past, all hell breaks loose. The official synopsis reads:

“Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer with heightened abilities, is fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk pursues his own political endeavors in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.”

In an interview with Collider, Charlie Cox revealed that the show will have a dark tone, which hasn’t been seen in any other Disney+ series. The intense setting will make the show look similar to the Netflix series. Cox said:

"We're continuing the darkness of the first series on Netflix. It is gonna be that dark and that intense. We worked our butts off to make it that way. So, we're excited about it because of that. As far as I'm concerned, the biggest question that I get asked the most is, is it gonna be dark like the original series? And the answer to that is a definite yes.”
