Daredevil: Born Again has left fans talking about the events of the show ever since the release of its pilot episode back in March 2025. With seven episodes of the series already having been released, there are several talking points for fans, with only two installments of the season remaining to be aired. However, one of the main issues that fans have pointed out in the series is Echo, or rather, her absence from the show.

Echo, played by Alaqua Cox in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, plays a very important role in the lives of Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, both crucial characters in Daredevil: Born Again.

However, aside from an initial nod, Echo's absence is very loud in the seven episodes of the show that have been released so far.

The character of Echo should be included in Daredevil: Born Again, and here's why

An ongoing debate within the MCU fanbase is whether the character of Echo should be included in the Daredevil: Born Again series, and most of the fandom is leaning towards the fact that Maya Lopez should be introduced as a character in the show.

The character of Echo spun off from the events that took place in Hawkeye, but the character has direct ties to the character of Daredevil and his storyline. This is because she is the adopted niece of Wilson Fisk, who is Daredevil's archnemesis. This information was alluded to in the first episode of Daredevil, titled "Chafa."

In the miniseries Echo, the relationship between the two characters was explored, which ultimately ended with Echo shooting Fisk in the face when she found out that he was the one who had set up her father for death. However, Fisk miraculously recovers and confronts her, and after his conflict with her, Wilson Fisk decides to run for Mayor and eventually wins.

This information, however, is mentioned in the pilot episode, titled "Heaven's Half Hour," when Matt Murdock and Vanessa Fisk are seen having a conversation about Wilson Fisk getting shot in the face. However, it is worth noting that even during this conversation, there is no mention of Echo.

While this has left fans confused, they are hoping that there might be some more attention paid to the character of Echo in the remaining two episodes of the Charlie Cox-starrer show. The series is available to stream on Disney+.
