Daredevil: Born Again, in the closing moments of its first episode, introduced us to a mysterious man named Adam, the man Vanessa had an affair with during Wilson's absence. This is a shocking revelation as their bond was strong in the original Netflix series, and they even got married in the third season of that show. While years have passed between season 3 and Born Again, it was an unexpected development.

The fourth episode of Daredevil: Born Again reveals that Wilson is holding Adam (Lou Taylor Pucci) hostage, and in Daredevil: Born Again, Episode 6, he brutally beats Adam. Some felt Wilson may have even killed Adam, but the first half of the eighth and penultimate episode, "Isle of Joy", reveals that Adam is still alive. But that might not be for long, as Wilson reveals to Vanessa that he held Adam hostage.

Fisk gives Vanessa two choices: either to let Adam go or to use the gun to shoot him, i.e., Wilson. Vanessa does pick the gun but shoots Adam, killing him. This brings the two characters closer for now. Ayelet Zurer, who plays Vanessa Fisk in Daredevil: Born Again, went into this decision of killing Adam in an interview with ScreenRant.

What did Daredevil: Born Again actress Ayelet Zurer say about killing Adam?

Zurer was interviewed by ScreenRant right after the eight episode of Daredevil: Born Again "Isle of Joy" streamed on Disney+. In that interview, the actress was asked whether Vanessa would see the consequences of her choice to kill Adam at the beginning of the episode. To this question, Ayelet Zurer responded by saying this:

"There will be consequences to everything, because that's the show - everybody has consequences, but particularly what you mentioned, I think, for Vanessa, it's all about gaining trust in this season, for her and him, I guess. Because the innate law is that they love each other and they're like that [locking hands] intertwined and inseparable. So it's going to be heartbreaking to see what she has to do in order to gain trust, but at the same time, it's inevitable."

Based on what she said here, it seems that Vanessa loves her husband and would do anything to gain his trust. So, even if she cheats on him at the beginning of the show, her feelings for Wilson are way too strong, and thus, getting rid of Adam is inevitable. However, the Daredevil: Born Again actress also went on to discuss another major revelation regarding her character in this episode.

Ayelet Zurer discusses Vanessa's role in Foggy's death in Daredevil: Born Again:

The second half of Daredevil: Born Again, Episode 8, reveals the mastermind who hired Benjamin Poindexter to kill Foggy Nelson in the first episode of the series. It was Vanessa Fisk, who was running Wilson's empire in New York when he was in Oklahama during the events of Echo. So Wilson wasn't lying when he assured Matt during their interaction in the Diner that he had nothing to do with Foggy's death.

Wilson might be currently unaware of it for now. The Daredevil: Born Again actress was asked by the interviewer whether she read the internet theory that Foggy is still alive (like it happened in the comics) and, if it were true, how complicated things could get for Vanessa. Her response was:

"Again, consequences are coming. There's always consequences in the show to everyone, everyone's action will have consequences. So it's inevitable. I have to say that, when I read about it, I had to put it aside, and I sort of suppressed the fact that Vanessa is involved in this, and I didn't deal with him until the absolute end. Because I just couldn't take it. It's like such a miserable, sad moment to see him gone, and then to have that tie to her somehow."

"Isle of Joy", the eighth episode of Daredevil: Born Again, is available to stream on Disney+.
