Daredevil: Born Again Episode 4 titled 'Sic Semper Systema' premiered on March 18, 2025, on Disney+. The episode was full of major twists and turns, including a big reveal about Adam.

Adam, played by Lou Taylor Pucci, was once in an extramarital affair with Vanessa Fisk, and he now finds his fate in the hands of Wilson Fisk. In the final scenes of the episode viewers see Adam locked in a prison cell, pleading for help.

Adam was briefly mentioned in the season's premiere by Vanessa, who asked her husband Wilson Fisk not to kill him, and Fisk promised he wouldn't. Later, Adam was also mentioned in Daredevil: Born Again Episode 3, during a conversation between Wilson and Vanessa.

In Episode 4, during a couple therapy session with Dr. Heather Glenn, it was confirmed that Vanessa was in a relationship with Adam while Wilson was away for seven years, recovering from Echo's gunshots and building his political career. During the therapy session, Wilson exclaimed:

"It was a betrayal."

Vanessa replied:

"You were gone, I didn't know when or if you were ever coming back."

When Heather asked Vanessa to describe Adam and what drew her closer to him, she said:

"It was his hands, his hands drew beautiful sketches that we thought..."

Wilson Fisk was not amused with Vanessa talking about Adam. When Heather asked about whether he had interacted with Adam, he said:

"Yes, we had a dialogue. A clarifying one. I did tell him how I felt about you [Vanessa]. About our marriage and I told him that I could not fathom a life of meaning without her."

However, when Heather asked them about Adam's current whereabouts, they said they didn't know. Knowing that Wilson is possessive about his wife Vanessa, the truth of what he did to Adam is revealed in the final moments of the episode.

What did Wilson Fisk do to Adam in Daredevil: Born Again Episode 4?

In the therapy session, Vanessa explained how she felt lonely when Wilson Fisk was away for seven long years, forcing her to seek solace in Adam. She revealed how it all stemmed from childhood trauma, when her father would abandon her mother and her for weeks due to work. However, viewers are well aware of the extreme measures that Wilson is capable of, making Adam's fate seem even more uncertain.

Wilson, however, loves Vanessa dearly and would not break his promise to her of not killing Adam. In the final moments of the episode we saw Wilson aka Kingpin enjoying a bowl of pasta and a glass of wine in an underground setting. He said:

"I was told forgiveness is the highest form of love. I wonder if you would agree with that, Adam."

The camera then panned toward Adam who is locked in custody, and begs to be released:

"Please Mr. Fisk. Please. Please. Pleaseeee. Let me out"

Thus, Wilson Fisk has kept his promise to Vanesa of sparing Adam's life. He has locked Adam away in custody. However, Adam's bloodied knuckles, unkempt hair and cry for help suggest he has been tortured for days in the underground cell.

However, although Adam is alive, his future remains uncertain. In an interview with TVline, when Ayelet Zuerer who plays Vanessa in the series was asked about Adam's fate, she replied:

"Um, we should probably be (worried)."
