After the Daredevil: Born Again premiere on Disney+, fans are speculating whether Bullseye, aka Benjamin 'Dex' Pointdexter, knows Matt Murdock's real identity.

The reboot series directly picks up from the events of Netflix's Daredevil Season 3 finale, where Matt agrees on a truce with Wilson Fisk/Kingpin. Bullseye was a secondary antagonist in the original series, who was after Daredevil.

His violent return in the premiere, where he brutally kills Foggy Nelson, hints that he somehow got a whiff of Matt's true identity between the Daredevil Season 3 finale and the reboot's premiere.

More on Bullseye's connection with Matt Murdock/Daredevil in our story.

Bullseye targeting Foggy and Karen in Daredevil: Born Again hints that he knows Matt's superhero identity

While Bullseye was assumed out of the picture in Daredevil Season 3, he returns in the Daredevil: Born Again premiere to wreak havoc in Matt's life.

The last we saw him, Wilson Fisk broke his back, which should have made him Bullseye's biggest enemy. On contrary, Bullseye has returned to target Matt's closest allies. Bullseye even kills Foggy in the premiere even before he even sets eyes on Matt, which suggests that had long planned to eliminate Foggy.

While Bullseye has past beef with Matt, his biggest enemy should have been Wilson Fisk. It was Fisk, after all, who manipulated Dex into becoming the fake Daredevil in Season 3, killed the woman Dex loved, and practically made him a pawn in his bid to win against Matt.

All these events suggest that Bullseye, or Dex, should have been after Wilson, but that is not how Daredevil: Born Again has premiered. At the new series begins, Dex has targeted Matt's allies. In addition to Wilson, Dex has also been hell-bent on making Daredevil's life a living hell. Considering his attack on Foggy and Karen, it would indicate that he knows Matt's identity as Daredevil, which motivated him to take out Foggy.

Reddit theories on whether Bullseye knows of Matt's identity in Daredevil: Born Again

Many Reddit fans are speculating whether Bullseye knows Matt's identity in Daredevil: Born Again after the premiere. Some users think that Bullseye might have made the connection between the superhero Daredevil and the blind lawyer Matt Murdock to realise they are actually the same person.

A user, u/IUsedToBeRasAlGhul, notes Fisk might not have disclosed Matt's identity but Dex still could have figured it out by himself:

''Dex never figured it out, and likely wasn’t told by Fisk or Felix Manning on account of his instability. It’s possible that he could have figured it out by the finale or at least come close — Matt’s name isn’t actually said, but Fisk talks about both Karen and Foggy so Dex could theoretically connect the dots.''

Another user, u/rc-20, points at a moment in Daredevil comicbook #181, where Dex suddenly realizes Matt's dual identity, and how Daredevil: Born Again might be working towards this. The user writes:

"Maybe it's the booze or maybe I'm just tired, but I'm looking real hard at this photo of Murdock, see, and I start thinking about how much he looks like you, Daredevil. And I read about how tight you are with Murdock, and I wonder if you're the same guy. And then I read, get this, that Matt Murdock is blind! Wouldn't that be a kick, Daredevil the Blind Superhero! Like I said, crazy idea."

This canonical comicbook event suggests that Dex somehow made the connection between Matt and Daredevil, and hints that he might have made the connection in the series, too. Future episodes might explore this aspect.
