Daredevil: Born Again, Episode 8, titled Isle of Joy, was released on April 8, 2025, at 9:00 PM ET. After years of waiting, this episode finally teases a nod to Bullseye's iconic comic book classic dark blue/black and white avatar by displaying blue hues. Played by Wilson Bethel, Benjamin Poindexter aka Bullseye, is one of the most notorious rivals of Daredevil. After brutally killing Foggy Nelson, he survives a near-death experience when Murdock smashes him and is sent to prison.
This episode opens on a bright blue screen with Poindexter watching someone pick a beautiful blue-hued rose from the prison grounds. Upon mayor William Fisk's orders, he is thrown into the normal cell with other prisoners.
This penultimate episode of the season saw Bullseye escape the prison after Murdock repeatedly slammed his head on the table for not revealing the reason he killed Foggy. After the violent encounter, Poindexter/Bullseye is sent to get medical help when he ripped out his tooth and escaped the prison.
Even though this season mostly explored the rift between Muse and Dardevil, the last two episodes will steadily reveal Poindexter's abilities. This episode ended with a cliffhanger when Poindexter crashed Fisk's Black and White party to kill him. However, Murdock takes the bullet aimed at his rival, which knocks him to the ground as the scene turns red.
For the unversed, the blue and red hue might look unfamiliar, but it's the alter ego activation marker for both Bullseye (blue) and Murdock (red). Throughout the episode, the viewers saw a bright blue hue when Poindexter slipped into his Bullseye persona- from his thoughts in the prison to his escape sequence.
Bullseye's blue hues in episode 8 of Daredevil: Born Again echo his comic book look
In the comic books, Bullseye is one of the most dangerous rivals of Daredevil, aka Murdock. He is a master assassin with perfect aim, and his personality is based on arrogance and sadism. In the comic books, Bullseye wears a black/dark navy bodysuit with white accents, white gloves, and a utility strap. The striking feature that makes him stand out is the bullseye symbol on his forehead.
The blue hues in Daredevil: Born Again, Episode 8, state that sooner or later, Bullseye could turn up in his classic comic book avatar with the iconic chest emblem. Even though this is not the first time that Poindexter's alter ego is shown in shades of blue, in Netflix's Daredevil series, the color blue was associated with Bullseye. While viewers have mostly seen Bullseye in prison attire for most of the season, some filming pictures released by Just Jared showed him in what looked like a prototype Bullseye costume with shades of dark blue and black.
After witnessing bright shades of blue hue, viewers might get to see Bullseye in the comic book avatar in the finale episode or the upcoming season. As per current update, Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 is confirmed and might be released in early or mid-2026.
