Jon Bernthal reveals training with actor Thomas Jane for his upcoming miniseries, Daredevil: Born Again, created for Disney+. Marvel Studios produces the show, and it is the second series created on the character of Daredevil. The Marvel fans will see Jon Bernthal reprise the role of Frank Castle, aka The Punisher.

Thomas Jane previously portrayed The Punisher in the 2004 film The Punisher. Though the film received mixed reviews, the movie is often regarded as a cult classic. Thomas Jane was highly celebrated for portraying Marvel's classic vigilante character. Bernthal, known for his commitment to his roles, is training with Jane to gain insights into the character.

Jon takes his professional work very seriously, evidenced by the fact that he was seen firearm training with Thomas Jane last year which excited Marvel fans. This time again, while preparing for Daredevil: Born Again, the two actors were captured together. This only leads us to an important question: Will Daredevil: Born Again feature two Punishers? There is no official announcement regarding Thomas Jane's appearance, but Jon Bernthal is set to return as The Punisher in Daredevil: Born Again.

Originally slated for release in spring 2024, Daredevil: Born Again had to be delayed indefinitely following the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. The Marvel series is now scheduled to come out by March 2025 and is expected to comprise 18 episodes in total.

Jon Bernthal was seen at target practice in preparation for his return as Frank Castle in Daredevil: Born Again. Surprisingly, he was joined by Thomas Jane, who previously portrayed the same character.

@DDevilUpdates shared a post on their social media handle on X about the training session for the upcoming series.

Jon Bernthal is said to be a regular at the particular practising range. It is not known if the meeting between the two is purely coincidental, but the energy brought in while in the zone was said to be unmatched. Thomas has already announced that he will not play the character of Frank anymore. However, this sudden public appearance of both the punishers together leaves a small possibility for the actors to meet at some point in the MCU with their own versions of The Punisher, within the multiverse that is the center of recent films and shows. With what we have seen in Deadpool & Wolverine, anything is a possibility.

Fans conveyed the same sentiments in one of the comments made on the post.

Jon Bernthal began portraying the character of Frank Castle in the second season of Netflix’s Daredevil series. Frank’s story begins after his whole family dies when they get caught amidst a gang war in a park. To exact revenge, he subsequently unleashes his war on crime, as he gets the name of The Punisher.

The Punisher eventually becomes a fearsome vigilante in New York City. Three full-length feature film adaptations of the character are depicted in The Punisher 1989 starring Dolph Lundgren, 2004's Thomas Jane also titled The Punisher, and 2008's Punisher: War Zone starring the late Ray Stevenson. However, none of these outings are as highly rated as Marvel's The Punisher, both seasons of which are available to stream on Disney+.

The official details of what Frank Castle will be up to in the series remains unknown. However, we do know that Head of Streaming, Television and Animation at Marvel Studios, Brad Winderbaun has indicated that the show might adapt Kinpin's mayoral campaign storyline from the Devil's Reign comics. The series will feature other key characters including Karen Page, Foggy Nelson, and Bullseye a.k.a. Benjamin Poindexter.

A Disney+ launch for Daredevil: Born Again is anticipated for 2025.
