America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Season 2 will take a closer look at the cheerleaders’ lives as they get ready for the Cowboys' 2024–25 NFL season. The season kicked off on September 5, 2024, and will conclude on February 9, 2025.

Cowboys had their first home game against New Orleans on September 15, 2024, which means the Netflix cameras have already started rolling for the second season.

In the time leading up to the season, the cheerleaders undergo high-pressure auditions and gruesome training camps with coach Kelli Finglass to light up the arena during home games at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.

The first season of Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders chronicled the previous season, as the cheerleaders went through long hours of practice and exciting game-day performances. The show also highlighted that despite being the ambassadors for the team, the pay was surprisingly low.

That being said, many cheerleaders say that being part of the DCC is more about honor than money, including Victoria Kalina who says it is a family dream for her as her mom was also a DCC cheerleader. She pushes herself through mental and physical challenges to carry on her mother's legacy.

Meanwhile, the cheerleaders have strict physical standards to meet before and during the NFL season. They have to maintain a certain weight and look, which can be really challenging. In some cases, they even deal with safety issues as one cheerleader revealed in the first season how she found a tracker on her car.

Despite the hardships, these women stay committed to giving their best and put in immense hard work to present well-coordinated and electrifying performances that boost the energy of the 90,000 spectators at the AT&T Stadium.

Kelli Finglas has been associated with the team for 34 years. She is a cheerleading veteran who was a member of DCC between 1984 and 1989. The docuseries demonstrates how Finglas leads the team with a mix of strictness and support, which makes her both tough and inspiring.

Netflix renewed America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders for a second season in November 2024. The show will arrive on the streaming platform sometime in 2025. In her official statement, series creator Greg Whiteley revealed how the production team gets year-round access to film during the game season.

He said:

“The kind of access and creative freedom we need to make the kind of work we want to make is not easy to come by — especially when dealing with a brand as large as the Dallas Cowboys.
To their infinite credit, the Cowboys offered unfettered access for the year we filmed the DCC and left us alone. The result is an authentic portrait of one of the most storied and beloved institutions we have in American pop culture.”

America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Season 2 will premiere in 2025. Meanwhile, the complete first season is streaming on Netflix.
