Culinary Class Wars is coming back to our screens for Season 2! If you are a fan of the show or simply love watching some intense cooking battles and chef drama, this is just the show for you. Netflix has officially announced that there will be a second season of Culinary Class Wars.

This popular Korean cooking competition show created a buzz and became a global hit in the first season. It is now coming back with more rivalries and intense kitchen action.

80 local chefs, or “Black Spoon” contestants, will go head-to-head with 20 celebrity chefs, or the “White Spoons.” The goal? To prove their culinary skills and win the ultimate prize of 300 million won (about $230,000).

Here’s everything we know about Culinary Class Wars Season 2.

The success of Culinary Class Wars

If we look at the reasons behind the success of Culinary Class Wars, we cannot overlook its format. There are several cooking shows, but what makes this particular show stand out is its fresh concept of a thrilling class-based rivalry between local underdog chefs and celebrity professionals.

In Season 1, we saw the Black Spoon contestants, who are unknown yet talented chefs, challenging the expertise of the White Spoons. The viewers were kept on the edge of their seats with tension in the air at all times. Who can forget Napoli Matfia, the fan-favorite Black Spoon chef who defied the odds and won it all?

Adding to all this excitement were the sharp-tongued judges, Paik Jong-won, who is a veteran restaurateur, and Michelin three-star chef Anh Sung-jae. Their expert critiques, along with the incredible dishes presented on the show, made for a sizzling first season.

Renewal of Culinary Class Wars

It goes without saying that the success of Season 1 has raised the expectations for Culinary Class Wars Season 2. The original production team includes producers Kim Hak-min and Kim Eun-ji, along with writer Mo Eun-sol.

The second season promises to be bigger and have more jaw-dropping challenges. There will be new contestants, and of course, a lot more food drama.

In a joint statement, the producers said:

"We're extremely grateful to our viewers. Because of them, we’re able to come back for Season 2.”

They’ve also said that the competition will be fiercer this time, and fans can expect new twists to keep things fresh and exciting. The contestants have to be in their best form and bring their A-game to the show. However, details of the challenges are still under wraps.

The renewal of Culinary Class Wars has fans buzzing, not just in Korea but around the world. It was Netflix’s first Korean unscripted show to top the global non-English series chart for three consecutive weeks.

Speculation about Culinary Class Wars Season 2

The exact details of Culinary Class Wars Season 2 are not known yet. This allows plenty of room for speculation. Will chef Napoli Matfia return to defend his title, or will a new batch of Black Spoon contestants rise to the occasion?

Fans are also wondering if Napoli from Season 1 might make a cameo or even a full return. He was truly inspiring to the viewers as he went from being an underdog to the champion of Culinary Class Wars Season 1. We might also see new celebrity chefs joining the White Spoon team.

Netflix did not announce an official release date for Culinary Class Wars Season 2, but the show is expected to premiere sometime next year.

If you haven’t already binged Season 1, now’s the perfect time to catch up on all the drama and delicious dishes. You can watch Culinary Class Wars exclusively on Netflix.
