DC enthusiasts, prepare for a wild ride as the Creature Commandos are fast approaching! The monstrous soldier squad from the fan-favorite comic books will be seen in the most-awaited animated series coming straight from James Gunn, who's set to reboot the DC universe with his Superman film arriving in 2025.

According to DC Comics, this squad of brutal soldiers was created during World War II, for missions that were too harsh for ordinary soldiers. Similarly in Gunn's animated series, the commandos will follow Amanda Waller's orders.

Fans have been waiting for the series since its announcement. So, if you're one of them, know that Creature Commandos will hit Max on December 5, 2024, and will conclude on January 16, 2025, with its seventh episode.

The animated series will follow a seven-episode schedule, focusing on how Amanda Waller selected these monsters and formed a ruthless team. Not only this, but Gunn also hinted at the possibility of these commandos appearing in live-action projects of the DC Studios.

The exact plot details are completely guarded, but we do know that it will start with Waller's decision to assemble the monsters from prisons and send them on dangerous secret tasks. One of its cast members, Frank Grillo, confirmed that "Creature Commandos is a hard R", which makes it clear that there's adult content.

The first trailer kicks off with Amanda Waller leading Captain Flag to the craziest prison ever, even crazier than the Suicide Squad! As Waller says "We can't use human prisoners", she shows a glimpse into what it's like inside the monstrous prison saying "These a*sholes aren’t human" followed by Flag asking her about The Bride as she never fails to flaunt her ruthless personality.

The trailer continues to feature other characters including Weasel, G.I. Robot, Dr. Phosphorus, Frankenstein, and Nina Mazursky. Captain Flag then takes these monstrous creatures with him, set for the biggest mission ever. Before the trailer ends, The Bride confirms that they were the monsters Waller and her team wanted.

What makes an animated series engaging is the voice cast behind it, and James Gunn ensures each character gets a unique voice. The voice cast of Creature Commandos includes Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Indira Varma as Bride of Frankenstein, Zoë Chao as Nina Mazursky, and David Harbour as Eric Frankenstein.

Other cast members are Maria Bakalova as Princess Ilana Rostovic, Steve Agee as John Economos, Alan Tudyk as Doctor Phosphorus, Sean Gunn as G.I. Robot and Weasel, Benjamin Byron Davis as Ruper Thorne, and Anya Chalotra as Circe.
