Adult and irreverent animated show Creature Commandos Season 1 kicked off James Gunn's DC Universe in a spectacular way. Episode 6 "Priyatel Skelet" sheds light on the radioactive origin of Alexander Sartorius, i.e. Doctor Phosphorus. In the present, each member of the team tries to make it to Princess Ilana Rostovic's castle to kill her.

What happens in Creature Commandos Episode 6 "Priyatel Skelet"?

As the team tries to make it to the castle and survive, Flag is admitted to the hospital by Waller and Economos as he is critically injured by Clayface. But Flag's condition is critical and is unable to inform Waller about the shapeshifter. Waller and Economos mistakenly believe that Eric Frankenstein is responsible for Flag's injuries.

Eric meanwhile, manages to make it to Pokolistan, to stop The Bride from killing the Princess, while she and her team manage to reassemble near the castle. This sets the stage up for Creature Commandos Episode 7, i.e., the season finale "A Very Funny Monster"

Speculations about Creature Commandos Episode 7

Every episode since the second one of Creature Commandos, "The Tourmaline Necklace" reveals the backstory of the different characters of the team. The only member of Task Force M whose backstory is yet to be revealed is Nina Mazursky. Glimpses of her past such as being bullied in school are shown in the trailer. However, we still don't have the complete picture.

So, fans are excited to see what she specializes in. In the sixth episode, "Priyatel Skelet", she does step up and protect a woman from violence. So, it should be interesting to see her skills, as of now, she is the nicest member of the team and we don't know why she was selected to be a part of a black-ops team or even the reason behind her arrest.

For now, all eyes are on Creature Commandos Episode 7 as the re-assembled team heads to the castle and completes the mission of killing Princess Rostovic.

What is Creature Commandos about?

Written by James Gunn, Creature Commandos is based on the comic book team of the same name that dates back to 1980. The team's function is the same as Task Force X, i.e., the Suicide Squad with one major difference. Every member of the team is a monster, i.e., not a human. Its synopsis reads:

"Creature Commandos tracks a secret team of incarcerated monsters recruited for missions deemed too dangerous for humans. When all else fails…they’re your last, worst option."

Will there be Season 2?

A Variety report from December 23rd, 2024 revealed that Creature Commandos was renewed for a second season. Gunn and Safran put out a statement saying:

“We’re thrilled to team up with Max for another season of ‘Creature Commandos’ mayhem. From our spectacular first season of ‘Peacemaker’ to the astonishing run of ‘The Penguin’ to the record-breaking launch of ‘Creature Commandos,’ Max has consistently delivered above industry expectations and beyond our wildest imaginings.”

Peter Girardi, who is a Warner Bros. Animation executive said:

“Thanks to the brilliant imagination of James and the talent of our amazing artists, DC fans fell in love with this new family of heroes. We are excited to continue this wild ride with our partners at Max. You want more monsters, you’re getting more monsters!”
