The sixth episode of Creature Commandos aired on January 2, 2025, and it might just be the biggest one yet. Apart from highlighting the dark character of Dr. Phosphorus, Episode 6 features Batman in his second cameo on the show. Making an appearance to crash the evil Dr. Phosphorus' party and apprehend him at the Ice Lounge, the Dark Knight stands tall.

The latest episode of Creature Commandos, titled Priyatel Skelet, is the penultimate episode before the season finale. Apart from containing the second cameo of the caped crusader and an exposition of the new DCU's Gotham City, the episode presents the tragic backstory of Dr. Phosphorus as Alexander Startorius. A victim of Rupert Thorne's returbution, Startorius went on to become one of the most ruthless and sadistic members of Task Force M.

On the other hand, in Pokolistan to kill Princess Illana Rostovic, the carefully-laid plans of Task Force M are foiled as Rick Flag Sr. breaks the news of the attack to the Princess, who defends herself adequately. Rick Flag Sr. does this by second-guessing their original instructions, suspecting that Rostovic might not really be the big and bad enemy as he was previously told.

Here's everything we know:

What happens on Creature Commandos Episode 6?

The latest episode of Creature Commanods begins with a flashback that shows Alexander Startorious trying his best to escape from the cluthces of Rupert Thorner and his henchmen in Gotham City. Following the bombastic showdown of the fifth episode, Task Force M has been split. Cutting to the present, Startorius is once again seen escaping the royal knights led by Princess Rostovic.

While Nina and the Bride have taken shelter in a brothel, Weasel finds himself in the woods and strikes up an unlikely friendship with a pack of wolves. Rick Flag Sr. is hospitalized and in a coma, his back broken in the clash with Clayface.

Episode 6 then proceeds to reveal the origin story of Alexander Startorius and sheds light on how he came to be known as the formidable Dr. Phosphorus. As the story goes, Startorius was a brilliant scientist working to find a cure to cancer based on his nuclear fission technology. Rupert Thorne was his sponsor and was selling nuclear technology to a fictional middle eastern country called Bialya.

Eventually, Thorne killed Alex's wife and was about to kill him, too, when, through an unexpected accident, Alex transformed into the fierce Dr. Phosphorus with superpowers.

The episode also contains a Batman cameo, showing the cape crusader's silhouette against darkness.

James Gunn on Creature Commandos Batman appearance

Speaking exlusively to Rotten Tomatoes, DCU co-chairman James Gunn revealed his initial rection to the idea of Batman's cameo on the latest episode of Creature Commandos. He said:

"When they first gave it to me, we saw a lot more Batman and I was saying ‘I am not ready to commit to that,’ ‘I’m not ready to commit to that,’ ‘I’m not ready to commit to that.’ So I just like more silhouette, more silhouette, more silhouette."

He added:

"And I think it’s a great way to show that Batman does exist, he already exists in this universe just like when we come to the Superman movie we see Superman already exists. He’s already known by the people in Metropolis.”

Creature Commandos finale airs on January 9, 2025.
