The veteran actress narrated the docuseries centered around the matriarchs of nature. Moments after securing her win, Bassett shared her exhilaration on her first Emmy, saying,

“This is one of the big ones, and that doesn’t usually happen. Whenever you’re acknowledged, I’m just, you know, a girl who just wanted to act.”

“I just never thought in my life I would get to do work at this level of depth and complexity. It’s just been the thrill of my creative life these last couple of years.”

Unfortunately, Oh wasn’t at the award ceremony to personally collect her Emmy. Her co-producer and co-actress Awkwafina (who also won her first Emmy) collected it for Oh instead. Catch Oh, Will Ferrell, and Awkwafina’s 2023 movie exclusively on Hulu!

4) Jon Bernthal

This is his second nomination for the role and first win since 2023. Bernthal's character is described as a typical big brother - a protector, nurturer, and lover.

However, like Curtis, Bernthal's most prominent appearance was in the episode “Fishes.” Bernthal is known for his many roles in the MCU, including The Punisher. As mentioned earlier, Bernthal’s The Bear is streaming on Disney Plus and Hulu.

The franchise created Emmy history with the most nominations and wins. This was Carbonell’s very first nomination and win in the Emmys.

Carbonell played a Portuguese trader who captained a treasure-hunting boat named ‘The Black Ship.’ Carbonell’s character, although brief, was crucial to the plot of Shogun. Speaking about his first win to Deadline, he said,

“This is overwhelming…When you work as an actor as long as I have, the role is a gift - some years are good, some years you try to piece them together. "

Shogun is intended to be renewed for season 2 on Disney Plus. However, no official word has been given about this.
