Alan Ritchson's Jack Reacher has returned in Prime Video's Reacher Season 3, focusing on the former military investigator's new alliance with the DEA. While the titular hero is back, many fans wonder if there's a possibility of old characters showing up in the ongoing season.

As seen in the first season, Jack arrives in the quiet town of Margrave, Georgia, only to be falsely accused of murder. To prove his innocence and uncover corruption, Jack forms alliances with two local officers—Roscoe Conklin and Oscar Finlay.

These two characters quickly became fan favorites as viewers praised how Finlay eventually developed a camaraderie with Jack, and Willa Fitzgerald's Roscoe became the lead's love interest. However, neither Roscoe nor Finlay will return in Reacher Season 3.

Despite having a romantic connection with Jack and sharing her phone number, Roscoe Conklin only appears in Season 1. One of the major reasons why Roscoe is absent is that Jack is a lone wolf.

The showrunner once said:

"Reacher is not a character who runs around with an entourage. He's a lone wolf, so you have to stay true to that."

If Roscoe had returned, this would have significantly affected the core theme of the Prime Video TV series. However, the possibility hasn't been completely ruled out.

Roscoe Conklin won't appear in Reacher Season 3

As mentioned above, the ongoing season hasn't teased Roscoe Conklin's return yet, and given the storyline, she's less likely to appear. Fans have been curious about her return since the first season ended with the officer sharing her phone number with Jack, but the two eventually parted ways.

Roscoe is known as one of the most dedicated officers of her town, and she first met Jack when he was accused of a crime at the beginning of Season 1. However, Roscoe never treated Jack as a criminal but as a strong ally.

When the two joined forces, they were able to down the town’s corrupt elite, and Jack decided to leave Margrave to continue his wandering lifestyle. As for Roscoe, she took on the quest to help rebuild her community and serve people.

As for Reacher Season 3, Jack doesn't want any of his allies to get in trouble, and this is why he tells Neagley not to get involved much in his new mission. Similarly, Jack wouldn't want Roscoe to fall into trouble since his undercover mission could lead to deadly outcomes.

However, considering how Jack and Roscoe parted ways on good terms, the character might appear in a cameo. This way, it would satisfy many fans and reveal how Roscoe Conklin has been doing.

Roscoe Conklin's absence in the Prime Video series didn't just affect fans and viewers but also Lee Child. The Margrave officer is one of the adored characters, but since Reacher Season 2 followed a different book, Roscoe couldn't make her way back into Jack's life.

During an event, the acclaimed author shared his reaction and said:

"Reacher moves on all the time, and I was so sad I would never see Finley or Roscoe again. I mean, literally, I was almost in tears at that prospect. And I felt the same thing at the end of this season. I wish I'd called it 'Roscoe,' now, and we could have had more!"

The author's reaction explains how much he appreciated Roscoe's role in the story, and it wasn't easy to accept her absence. However, a spin-off focused on Roscoe might bring her back, just the way Prime Video is coming up with a spin-off on Frances Neagley.
