Netflix's Black Doves is the latest thriller that many can't stop discussing, especially after watching the Season 1 finale. The espionage, danger, and personal drama aren't over yet, as there's more to tell. Black Doves brought Keira Knightley back to the small screen after years, as she takes on the lead role of a mother and a Black Dove.
The series is set in modern-day London during the Christmas season, focusing on Knightley's Helen Webb who's married to a politician Wallace Webb, and has been secretly working for a covert organization Black Doves for ten years. Through her marriage, Helen passes sensitive information to the organization as they deal with secret missions.
However, Helen's life takes a dark turn when her lover is murdered and she ends up in a dangerous conspiracy. She's forced to confront her past and the dangerous world she has been dealing with.
The Netflix thriller also features other characters like Sam Young, Mrs. Reed, and Lenny Liles, and how can we not mention the spy with hidden motives— Dani, played by Agnes O'Casey? She's introduced as Wallace Webb's charming and flirtatious assistant, whose real identity is revealed at the end of Season 1.

Who is Dani in Black Doves: Exploring Agnes O'Casey's character
As mentioned above, Dani is more than Wallace Webb's assistant in Black Doves, and Helen can see through her facade. One of the key moments between Dani and Helen occurs in Episode 5 "The Cost of It All" in which Helen reveals she knows about Dani's affair with Wallace, and interestingly, Dani also knows about her.
The scene takes place at a jewelry shop, with Helen closing down the shutters and they both draw their knives, ready to confront each other. The fight is quite intense as Danie tries hard to kill Helen, but little does she know that it is hard to defeat the Black Dove.
As Helen previously mentioned "I'm gonna break your f** neck", she smashes Dani's face and takes a pearl necklace to strangle her neck. She almost chokes Dani, but lets her go because it's Christmas Eve, and "Helen Webb doesn't stab girls to death in jewelry stores", and tells Dani what she must do next.

While speaking about Black Doves with Netflix Tudum, Keira Knightley mentioned Helen's wish to kill Dani. The Pride and Prejudice star also praised her co-star, saying:
"[Agnes O’Casey], who played Dani, was just great, so it was really nice rehearsing with her. That fight was the most solid that we had."
Though brief, it was an action-packed confrontation between Dani and Helen, hinting at a bigger future conflict. It would be intriguing to watch Helen's next move as Dani now knows much about her, further adding to her complicated and risky life.

Will Dani return in Black Doves Season 2?: Helen wants to kill her
Yes, Dani is very likely to return in Black Doves Season 2, and her return would undeniably create tensions in both: Helen's personal and professional life. She was thrust into replacing Helen in Season 1, but her plan failed when Helene knocked her off, but let her live.
The defeat might trigger anger and lead Dani to take revenge. Additionally, it was Reed— the leader of Black Doves who sent Dani to replace Helen. So, if Helen continues to defy the leader's authority or compromise missions, she might consider giving Dani another chance and this would ultimately complicate the situation.
She opened up about her character in Season 2, and interestingly killing Dani is on her list. The Love Actually star said:
"I want to kill Dani. I don’t think it’s OK that she tried to f** my husband and kill me on Christmas Eve."
Not to forget that Wallace has been promoted as the new Prime Minister, further creating a chance for Dani to infiltrate his life. Dani knows almost everything about him, and now that he's in a higher position, their interactions will also increase. So, this makes it quite possible for Dani to come back in Season 2.
