Love is Blind: Habibi - What happened on the social experiment?

The debut season of Love is Blind: Habibi aired on Netflix on October 10, 2024. The social experiment's Dubai version featured 10 male and 10 female participants looking to find their soulmate.

Initially, as per the show's format, for the 10 days, participants go on blind dates in the "pods" where they can't see each other. However, with a wall separating the two pods, individuals can talk with each other.

As they explore various dates, they find their connections and then prefer to go only on the dates they see a potential with. Later on, after finding their "right" match, cast members get engaged and only then meet each other physically.

Hence, maintaining the show's prime goal is to find an emotional connection rather than a physical one. Additionally, the Arab version of the show has a few differences compared to the original American version.

One major difference is that in Love is Blind: Habibi, engaged couples went on a "vacation" rather than a "honeymoon" phase. Seeing the cultural diversities, engaged participants get to interact with their connections during the day, and they advance to the next phase of the experiment.

After witnessing participants hailing from various parts of the regions, cultures, and backgrounds, fans shared their views. Some fans were happy to see the show and described it as a way to "decompress from a hectic week."

Another fan shared opinions on the male participants as "controlling misogynist." Similarly, many other fans shared their views on the show via social media platform X.

Netflix is now streaming all the nine episodes of Love is Blind: Habibi.
