"Communal underwear bin" - Love is Blind star Joey jokes with Monica's family about their sock bin

Love is Blind couple Joey and Monica met in the pods and instantly connected because of their "golden retriever" personalities. However, the only challenge in their relationship is Joey's OCD.

He likes his space very clean. Even while discussing household chores, after they had moved into their apartment, he said he would clean all the dishes because that's the way he likes it.

Soon, the conversation went towards how each of them keeps their socks. Joey said that he keeps his socks in his drawer but Monica revealed that her family has a sock bin and they just toss it inside that. He found it odd and the two joked about Monica's family having a sock fetish.

Later in Love is Blind episode 8, the couple went to meet Monica's parents and sister where they again discussed the "sock bin." Joey wanted to see it and know what his fiancé was talking about. Continuing the joke, he said,

"I heard you guys also have a communal underwear bin."

Love is Blind star Joey sees Monica's family's sock bin

Insisting upon seeing the sock bin, Joey goes upstairs with Monica and sees her room. She then pulls out a basket full of different socks that her family uses together. Joey asks her if the family of any of her exes had a similar sock bin, to which Monica replies in the negative.

He then asks her about "how many feet" had been inside the bin and she says that she did not think about it because it was her "family's feet." Later in a confessional, Joey says,

"It looks like it works well for them. I like it. It's kind of a quirky thing and I like quirky things about families."

The group seemed to be having a good time as they laughed about everything. At one point, Monica's mother called out for a fam-jam where everyone was handed one instrument that they could play together. Monica was very embarrassed by it but Joey seemed very interested in all the fun activities.

Later in the Love is Blind episode, we saw Monica and her sister go out to sit by the fire and discuss the former's relationship. The latter expressed her skepticism about the match for her sister and felt like Joey was being a good actor in front of them.

Nicolle said that "he knows what to say" and the relationship between him and Monica could potentially move towards divorce. Highlighting the point that she is 5 years older than her, Nicolle said that she always thought it would be her who gets married first but it is Monica now.

Later in Love is Blind episode 9, the couple were back at their apartment and discussed the meeting. She asked his honest opinions about the night and Joey said,

"I thought it went really good with your mom, good with your dad, not great with your sister... I just don't think she likes me."

He then asked if there was any reason for her to not like him or if he had done anything wrong to which Monica said that he hadn't. However, she has never approved of anyone in her life. He points out that from an outsider's point of view, he felt there might be a "jealousy" aspect to her reaction. He said,

"It sounds like there might be some unresolved issues. Family is like extremely important to me. And if my sisters were to tell me they didn't like someone, I would listen to that."

Monica then urges Joey to talk to her sister one-on-one and he agrees.
